Dear Chris,

As I understand it - ModelSim PE is NOT supported on ANY version of Windows 7, only on XP. Try again the tech support and check with them.
Anyway, don't be annoyed - switch to XP (maybe via a virtual machine). I'm running it on a Fedora machine with a virtual Win XP (using VMWare).

Hi @ all,

Im working with the student version of Modelsim, I have dowloaded the
latest version (6.5b) and the licence and copied it to the root
folder(C:\dev\Modeltech_pe_edu _6.5b).

Now to the problem:

Im using "vsim -voptargs=+acc work.tdm_bert_tb" as my run command.
My only error report is:

Hi all,

After downloading I run the setup file.
No browser appears and after a few seconds nothing happens.
Any idea whats wrong? Need to get this up and running this weekend !!

Hi!!!!

I really want to start working on the programs and I have very little
time. Even after installation, Iam getting this error.

Any suggestions ? Any other version I can download for free and start
using immediately?

Dek,

There should have been a compxlib.log file generated. Look in the
file to see what the problem is. Post the errors in the log file.

Hi all,

in my VHDL I'm trying to use some component generated with Core
Generator by Xilinx, but to do so I should compile the XilinxCoreLib
Library; I tryed tiping "compxlib" but after few passages the
compilations stops.

Can anyone help me?

I got the same error, after the whole process of downloading the
program, and the ini settings in the wrong directory and finally I got
the
more time, this program sucks, fortunately there are really free
programs as verybest. Maybe modelsim is good but after "using" the
student edition I would not buy modelsim never.

Yes, it can be used... I used it for my graduation project

but the limitation is you can't run more than one instance of ModelSim
student edition

It is both windows n unix but i guess the unix platform version is only
licensed n not student version.

I have never used it but heard that some features of simulink can be used.

Hi omy,

I met the same error. I am using modelsim6.5b student edition and I
have copy the student_license.dat to the directory"C:
\Modeltech_pe_edu_6.5b" but still got the same error" Error loading
design" when I tried to simulate my design, I even tried copying it to
every other directory such as "C:\Modeltech_pe_edu_6.5b\win3 2pe_edu"
