Subject: Need Help in setting up GCC with Modelsim
hi
I want to run Direct Programming Interface (DPI) examples in Modelsim.
But I donot know where I will find GCC compiler which can work with
modelsim.

Please can someone give me steps as in where I will get GCC compatible
with modelsim, how to setup GCC so that when I type gcc in transcript
windows it can compile the c code, about the environment variables and
all.

I read the manual but could not set it up.

The Student Edition download area doesn't contain the gcc compiler but
the ModelSim PE ftp site does.  Select Modelsim PE on the model.com
download page, fill out the registration and it will give you a link
to the ModelSim PE ftp site.  There you will see the gcc file to
download.

Hi,
I put the gcc compiler from PE to my installed student version. But I
got this error. I am not sure if this is because I have no license for
the PE version. Could you help? thanks.

** Error: (sccom-6170) The gcc version you are using is not officially
supported. Please contact
# supp...@model.com to provide the file 'predef_macro_gcc42_win32.txt'
for you

regards,
nannan

ModelSim Student Edition only supports VHDL & Verilog, not SystemC.
