Subject: Modelsim 6.5a & 6.3c PE student Edition

Hello,
I am using the V2pro XUP kit from Digilentinc,
As i went through the document "EDK concepts, tools, and techniques"
I reached the simulation chapter and I faced a problem. In the
recommendation for simulation it is written that:
"A mixed language simulator (Mentor Graphics ModelSim PE/SE or Mentor
Graphics
IUS) is required for the simulation steps."

before that it is also written:
"Installation Requirements for Simulation
To perform simulation using the EDK tools, you must have the following steps
completed:
1. An IP-Protect capable simulator (ModelSim® PE/SE v6.3c or Mentor
Graphics® IUS
v6.1) is required for the simulation steps."

I downloaded the Modelsim 6.5a PE student edition and got the license.
I want to know; Should it work properly instead 6.3c PE???
I downloaded 6.3c PE but NO license!!!!

Thanks in advance

First off, Modelsim PE Student Edition will not simulate mixed
designs.  It is limited to single design (VHDL, Verilog).

Second, you don't get the license file when you download the product.
You have to install the student edition and at the end of the install
a web page should come up where you register for the license.  This
will only work for the FireFix and Internet Explorer browsers but IE
sometimes has problem with some systems.  FireFox is the recommended
browser.
