What is the best way to remove the ends from the drag link and tie
rods ends once you get the cotter pin out? I just dont to do any
damage trying to turn the slotted piece to get to the parts inisde.
Thank you for your time - Del

Del,

Most folks recommend (me included) that you go back in with the teflon seats in the linkages once you have the balls replaced. Those teflon seats come with a different screw plug. So boogering up(that's a "technical" term) the screw plug isn't a big deal. I use the biggest screw driver I can find (mine has a square shaft) and then clamp down on the shaft with a Crescent wrench as a cheater. But then I've been lucky, my cars weren't barn fresh when I did this job.

Good luck,

Eric Shogren

The Teflon seats should only be used if your steering balls have been
polished. Any roughness on the balls will quickly wear the Teflon seats.
