Well, it doesn't look like any new modbooks have arrived in weeks?

I have decided to move on and pick up a PC based tablet.

I really believe that if you could actually get one, the modbook is an
great value compared to other slate computers. The features versus cost
plus the great industrial design are fantastic.

Since my primary use will be productivity at work with note taking and
organization of information, I've decided to pick up a Lenovo x61
tablet. It was on sale for $1300.

I'll be listening in and watching Amy's forums to see how this Modbook
thing comes along. I'm hoping that in a few years either Axitron or
Apple will really figure out this niche and come out with something
great. By then my "new" computer will be ready for replacement.

Good luck to all those brave souls who are waiting...

Hi All

We have not shipped any due to Axiotron ran out of the kits, but a Very
large shipment is due in this week and a Very large chunk of Backorders will
ship out. They are in route our CEO has already alerted me to get my staff
ready for building more unit. I would expect more to ship on Thursday.

I'm considering bailing, too. I'm now looking into the Electrovaya
Scribbler and other PC Tablets. I really want a ModBook. It just seems
as though it's not gonna happen.

I bailed a couple WEEKS ago.  It took Snaxiotron & OldWC a few weeks just to cancel my order!  I had to jump through hoops to do it too...for shame.
I went with an HP TX2000z for about a THIRD of the price, I use OneNote for ALL my school notes, it is SOOOOO nice.  It's got limited pressure sensitivity which works.  ArtRage is the BOMB, even on Vista.  Vista's handwriting recognition is really really REALLY good, and I HATE microsloth.

Hey all... just checking in over here.

Ben, no offense, I think you know I've been patient and I've tried to
be nice, but it's all getting a little tired hearing you say "this
week" over and over. I'm surprised you keep saying it after a year. As
it seems I know you can't control Axiotron, but honestly, dude, they
need to get their shit together.

I haven't baled yet on the ModBook... I'm going to wait and see how
many people from the February 28th "promise list" actually start
getting their ModBooks... then I might have some hope for those of us
on the March 21st promise list.

Of course, the longer I go without it, the more I hear about "issues"
that make me doubt my decision... at least if it were here already I'd
be working on ways to resolve issues, not working on ways to convince
myself into a Windows-based Tablet PC.

See ya around here and ModBookForum.com :)

Hey Ian,

Believe me, I haven't given up YET... but that's a big yet... lets see
how many on the February 28th "promise list" actually get their
orders... that will prove to be very telling.

On top of everything else, OWC is moving the week I think... they had
a new corporate headquarters built (they just got some "green" award
for it) and Jen from OWC even mentioned on ModBookForum.com that they
are moving. I'm sure that's not helping the situation.

I'm SO discouraged by all this!

Hi All

The move is not going to cause any delay issues with your Modbook orders
that part of the company is staying put till further notice.

I will keep you all informed the Kits are due in and soon as we have them I
will let you all know!!!

Wow, now I'm really confused. Jen posted over at www.ModBookForum.com
that you were receiving kits in already and shipping started last
Friday.

????

Ben, really, if you're gonna keep stringing us all along I'd hope that
you and Jen are at least on the same page about it... ;)

Hello. Just throw'n in my 2cents. Hope that's enough to regain some
confidence to all Modbook, soon to be owners and/or work-flow artists
on the go, yo! I've been waiting since March 2007. I gave up grabbing
my ankles just to get the latest build and ship date status towards my
order. I've changed my attitude and I now look at the situation like
this...the Modbook is waiting for me. Cause I'm gonna tear it up dawg!
Where you at, you aspiring creativesque ppl you?! Hang in there! Don't
let your cell phone or a computer dictate the way you run your world.
Remember, we are teaching "it" to do the things "we" want done, more
efficiently, more productively, more lucratively. Anyway..back at the
ranch...Todd at OWCMacSalesAxiotron, aka OWCMSA..holmes!, has just
notified that my order is being built and is going to ship out Feb
28th 2008. (notice I did not include the phrase "on or before" as we
all became familiar with) This country wouldn't exist w/o gangsters
like them. Know your history. Because I was, "Born in the USA!" Now I
feeling playing Guitar Hero. Hope this helps lift up those tired and
weary spirits. Later on...as I Rock on!

Sure

Axiotron is due to receive the new MacBook today and will let us know if
they find anything that would hamper the upgrade. Our CEO expressed it would
be about a two to three week time frame before we get these units once we
get the green light from Axiotron. If anyone wants to wait for the new
speeds and is afraid there order is in process for the older speeds right
now just let me know and I can look into putting the orders on hold.

Email me at benp...@macsales.com

Hey Ben,

So what's the latest? Now that March 21st has come and gone without
due shipments, what can you tell us?
It was reported in another thread that someone was informed by an OWC
employee that there computer wouldn't ship for at least another
month. Is that true?

If so, why? What is going on over there?

So why can't they at least email us another projected date? I feel as
if I'm being taken for granted. Don't do that; I don't respond nicely
