Without electricity, children cannot study after dark, parents cannot
work once the sun sets and clinics cannot offer life-saving medical
help. Access to modern energy is the key to better healthcare,
education, and financial independence for the 1 in 5 people worldwide
who do not currently have electricity.

In April for Earth Month leading up to the UN Conference on
Sustainable Development (Rio+20 Earth Summit) we are seeking your

How to Help Power the World
1) Sign the Pledge: Beginning on April 24th, Power the World will be
asking supporters to sign a pledge to support Sustainable Energy For All
with the goal of 1 million supporters across 40 countries. Please sign
the pledge and then help us by messaging your followers.
2) Now that you've signed the pledge tell us why you signed it by
tweeting what you you miss most without power. On April 24th, 2012 Tweet
and post on Facebook that you signed the pledge and why you did it. Tell
your followers what you would miss if you had no access to electricity
including #whatiwouldmiss, then ask your followers to respond with what
they would miss most. Ideally include an image.
Together we can create a dialogue about energy access and sustainable
solutions.
