Call for Papers
ICA 2010 Pre-conference, “Innovations in Mobile Use”
June 21 – 22, 2010
Singapore
The Singapore Internet Research Centre (SiRC) is organising the ICA 2010 preconference workshop, “Innovations in Mobile Use”, to be held in Singapore, from 21st – 22nd June 2010. The Mobiles preconference seeks to examine innovations in a variety of societal contexts highlighting different phenomena of cell phone uses. The workshop will aim to foster discussions around how developments in emerging markets reflect the trends in mature markets, and assess potential for the cross-pollination of information and communications technologies for development and/or empowerment.
You are invited to
submit a 500-word extensive abstract focusing on the social scientific
understanding of mobile communication, including the following themes:
• Social impacts of mobile phones use
• Mobile communication for development
• Trends in mobile media systems and social contexts
• Public sphere, social networks, and mobile communication
• Mobile communication policy and regulation
• Mobile broadband
• Theoretical and methodological perspectives on mobile
communication research
Please submit your abstracts to sirca_...@ntu.edu.sg by 13th November (Friday) 2009, 11:59 EST.
Final papers will be due 14th May (Friday) 2010, 11:59 EST.
