Howdy,
I just wanted to be sure that folks were aware of the Nike hackathon at PIE, this Saturday.
Nike is opening up some of the data surrounding the materials they use to make their products, and they're giving the Portland development community a first glimpse at the API.
They're especially interested in mobile apps, so it seems like a perfect opportunity for this crew to spend some time hacking with apparel designers and whatnot. Plus, if you build something they like, there's the potential that they'll reward you with some cash and incentives to keep building.
UI, UX, and data visualization types would be awesome as well. So don't be shy.
This is an open event. All are welcome. And all ideas remain yours. They're just interested in getting the data out there.
Hope that helps,
Rick
