As MMS 2.2 is becoming convincingly more stable and feature rich as it nears a Final release, it is time to invite a bigger circle of A+ developers and Alpha hackers to take a look under the hood and see if the engine is tuned well. As an incentive to that end, I put together a HOWTO guide on the MMS Wiki:

Looking forward to comments and constructive criticism.

As those systems are inherently multi threaded you may want to add that it might be sometimes useful in the Breakpoint options to Select Suspend VM instead of the default Suspend Thread.

Great stuff. This will be highly appreciated by newcomers and even existing users.

Congratulations!

Great! Documentation is so important (but so boring to write!), you
don't want to have developers struggle to setup their environment if
you do want them to help you out. Perhaps something similar should be
created for the sip servlet container as well? The readme files are a
little outdated.

Yes, these are maven modules that compose MMS. They help isolate responsibilities and minimize dependencies within MMS. For example you can add or remove a codec without touching the rest of the MMS structure.
