The topic of this month's meeting is Social Network Integration. We'll have a couple demos of successful integration with Facebook and other social networks. Bring your laptop if you have something you'd like to show. We're specifically interested in the development side of these demos, not just the features of the applications. What were your challenges and what solutions did you find? If you just have questions, bring those too. We'll have a lively discussion on the topic.

 Has anyone ever been asked to preload a Flash .flv file into browser cache
so that it could be used on the next HTML page? Anyone have any idea's?
Also is there any way to have a progressive download flv only start playing
after the whole video is downloaded?
Robert

 It looks like your submitButton calls submitForm(), but the only line
of code there is commented out.
Maybe try throwing some trace statements like:
trace('submitForm called');
trace('formSubmitHandler called');
inside the appropriate function so you know what's getting called and
what isn't where you expect it to.

 I have a form as a custom component with four text fields and two check boxes that I need to have the information sent to the main application. I have created a custom event to be able to dispatch the text from the text fields and display in an Alert box. For some reason it is not sending the text over but the event is being dispatched.

 I think it sounds redundant, reporting is dynamic in itself. I think
that saying it is dynamic makes it sound like the reports themselves
are dynamic and not just the data. But when it's coming from HR types
who knows. I remember a 10+ years ago when interactive was still new
and I was still young and inexperienced being put off by a lot of the

 I think that phrasing is from the client. It is a bit vague, but is
used frequently by HR types to mean that the application will be pulling
numbers from a database somehow. I'm guessing you'd be integrating the
Flex app with a Java backend.

If it helps at all, the client is a large financial entity that has a

 Just out of intellectual curiousity - would the recruiter be able to clarify
what is desired in regards to: "dynamic reporting from Flex"?

Sounds like an interesting, yet vague requirement.
