“All Hands on Deck for Climate Action”
Send off for Copenhagen Attendees
Minneapolis, MN – Local community leaders are holding a “All Hands on
Deck for Climate Action” event in anticipation of the international
climate treaty negotiations (COP-15) beginning in Copenhagen in two
weeks. Volunteers will invite passersby at Peavey Plaza in Minneapolis
to trace their hands and sign the petition. The banner will be
delivered to Senator Amy Klobuchar, who will be attending the climate
negotiations in Copenhagen, as evidence of the broad support for a
strong climate treaty and a strong clean energy jobs bill here at
home.
At the 10 AM press event, local political and community delegates
traveling to Copenhagen will talk about how they will bring the voices
of Minnesotans to the Copenhagen negotiations. Speakers will include
State Representative Kate Knuth (invited), youth leader Reed Aronow,
and Paul Thompson – all of whom will be traveling to Copenhagen.
