Greetings! Welcome to the MnSCU STEM Google Group!
This group is designed for everyone employed in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system that is interested in STEM – faculty, administrators, and staff. Google groups gives all of us the ability to have discussions, post items of interest, and send an email to the whole group.
The Google Group is intended to complement the STEM eFolio site – www.stem.project.mnscu.edu. On this site you will find local and regional STEM events, grant opportunities, and updates of various system-wide initiatives such as Project Kaleidoscope, MentorNet, and STEM Equity Pipeline. There is even a photo gallery; do you recognize anyone?
A third avenue for communication is the PKAL-MnSCU collaboration site at http://serc.carleton.edu/sp/pkal/mnsu. This site is focused on pedagogies of engagement and the series of workshops we have hosted. You’ll find a variety of teaching methods plus classroom activities designed by our faculty. Campus teams are encouraged to post their Plan of Action.
Next steps for each of you:
- Explore the site. Manage your membership – tell us who you are, decide if you want a daily or weekly summary of postings, etc.
- Send an email to the STEM faculty at your campus encouraging them to become members. I would especially encourage department chairs to join so they can pass along announcements.
- Post a discussion question! Are you looking for a partner for a grant? Do you have an event to advertise? Are you curious about curriculum issues? Do you want to announce an opening, a hire, a successful grant application?
Sincerely,
