I've not made it to a group yet, so I am well aware of the chutzpah in asking this... but I'm working on a paper on using metaphor in disaster communication.  This would apply to security incidents, but is also a key component in those frank discussions we have in the Agile world when projects start to slip and issues must be addressed.  (My area of focus is using Agile tools and techniques to get Security projects done.)

I'd be very interested in this topic.

What's involved in sponsoring a gathering?

Hi everyone,

I have not made it to group in awhile either. I am unable to make the next meeting but maybe if there is a Tuesday meeting in March or April I'd be available to present on my article Confessions of a New ScrumMaster published on the Scrum Alliance website earlier this month. I am going to be presenting on this at the Scrum Alliance Conference in Las Vegas in May as well so it would be nice to be able to get some feedback from the group before this. Again, I'm unable to make it this month but would be interested in the next couple months if there is interest from the group.

Hi All,

Natalie, I read your article. It was fantastic! I couldn't comment because it was via phone and it wouldn't allow it... I will though. It was fun to read about your ScrumMaster experience after the CSM training. I am also speaking at the Gathering in Las Vegas - all of us Minnesotans should try to connect there so if others are attending be sure to communicate it. My topic is on metrics in agile.

I'm flexible on topics for our MN AEG meetings. Since I am often out of town it is hard for me to come so I usually let others provide their opinions.  Josh, I am not clear on exactly what you are proposing the topic to be. Is it "open communication" in agile and the difficulties that come with that or is it more specifically related to security? In terms of sponsoring a meeting, it simply requires ordering and paying for pizza & beverage for the meeting. We are an intimate group so it is pizza for about 20 people or less so the $$ isn't too big.

I hope to see everyone in February.  I am in town that week! :) Yay!

As much as I would love a meeting solely focused on my needs, I was thinking more along the lines of "open communication" in agile.

If the group wants that topic, I'll chat with my company about sponsorship.  From where is the pizza normally ordered?

There's a Davanni's about a block or two from the campus that I got the pizza from when I sponsored last month.  They will deliver but sometimes it's hard for them to find the room so I picked up.

There's a Super America right across the street from it that's easy to pick up sodas, water, etc.

Also, Rod typically helps facilitate the topic choice discussion/decision and we haven't heard from him yet.  It works for me.
