Hi can anyone help me i wanted to read an old bill on my scottish power site ,but it kept saying preview could not read it and download adobe reader or something like that should i do this and replace preview? if so how do i replace preview with it

If it’s a pdf, preview should open it, don’t recommend using Adobe.

Didn't he already say preview couldn't open it?! Could & should are different things, no?

Adobe reader is a pain, but you can install it from.

You need to find the correct one for your OS version (select the option for different language and versions). You can install Adobe Reader & still have Preview installed, however Reader will try to install the browser plugin that will be used instead of Previews browser plugin. Either say no or give up & let it add the plugin. 

There may be an uninstaller with the download if you want to remove it when you are finished. (Or search for "uninstall adobe reader VERSION")

It's not bad or malicious software, it's just annoying & likes to make sure it is set to open PDFs & installed in the browser. It's kind of big too, making updates painful.
It likes to insist on auto updates, which is probably for the best considering how often PDF's are used to exploit systems.
