Unfortunately Dilip has me rumbled.
I've volunteered to trial the Virgin Media 50MB service.
Not sure how long it will be free (well no extra costs to my 20MB connection) but thought it was worth a bash for a couple of months.

I downloaded an app that was 192MB. Did it in 3mins 40secs :-)

well, as we're swapping 'c.v.'s....

as you can see, the speed is right up there between 28 and 56k...whooo-hoo second slowest speed


hopefully should be reporting a quicker set of times. a nice gentleman from inetlink is coming round next wednesday to install our high speed microwave connection...yippeeeeeee!!
