Greetings,

Has anyone else not had their "12 days of Christmas" gift today?
Thus far, each day the email has arrived shortly after midnight. Today -
nothing.
I emailed Apple - no reply. I emailed the address for "still having
problems - please contact us here" and got my email straight back with a
"you don't have permission to post to this group" message attached.

The other issue is - I sent an unsubscribe email to google groups in early
December to cancel sending from this address and sent a subscribe mail
from my @me.com address. I've heard nothing and am still getting mails to
the old address and nothing to the me.com address. Any ideas?

many thanks

Happy New Year to all

Hi Dave

You can access your 12 Days of Christmas freebie at http://www.itunes12daysofchristmas.co.uk/ without having to wait for the email!

I'm sure that when one of the Group Admin guys see your other query, they will get in touch and sort it for you.

Happy New Year!

Chris

Hi Dave
The system has your blueyonder still registered and all requests to
join have been approved.

Try another unsubscribe just email
mmug-chat-...@googlegroups.com from your blueyonder account
and the system will un-sub you, then put your me.com address in the
form here... http://mmug.org.uk/list

If you get stuck, email your details to gr...@mmug.org.uk and I can do
it manually.

Cheers
B.

The unsubscribe address doesn't seem to work. The mail bounces back as
undeliverable.
I've subscribed using my me.com address. I'm not overly fussed about the
nux address not unsubscribing because the address will be closed as soon
as virgin have finished upgrading their email servers. I was more
concerned about getting the me.com address set up correctly.

Thanks for your help.

I'm still getting notification about 12 days on my phone. But it's
leona lewis today so I wouldn't worry about it... :-)

(still slightly annoyed about the alan partridge episode being shown
on tv 5 minutes after I downloaded it!)

Can you unsubscribe me please? I've tried about 4 times and every mail
bounces straight back with "no such address".
(I'm using the mmug-chat-...@googlegroups.com address).
Am I right in thinking that the new address will not register until the
old is removed? (Because I've not received any mails to the me.com
address, even though I registered it this morning).

Many thanks

I don't think it is smart enough to see that you have another address
subscribed.
You may need to wait for an admin to approve the request, it is the
only way to run the list & not get overridden by spammers, Ben said it
was done earlier, so perhaps it is Google being slow.

Are you sending the unsubscribe request from the account you want to
unsubscribe? I suspect the account is unknown because the message is
coming from the me.com address?
If memory serves you can customise the 'new message' window with the
little 3 rows button…(see pic)

No, I'm sending the unsubscribe email from the blueyonder account. The
issue seems to be that "mmug-chat-...@googlegroups.com" doesn't
seem to exist as an address (or at least, that is the message I'm getting
in the "undeliverable" returns.

It looks undeliverable to my other email account too, I'm not sure if this is a delivery failure, or just that the server doesn't return messages from unknown (unsubscribed) users. I don't fancy trying it with my real email address.
What happens when you log in to google groups? Try logging in to groups using the blueyonder email address.

There is an option to unsubscribe from there.

There is no record of my nux address with Google. Neither with the me.com
address.
I have had problems with MMUG mails for ages. For a long time messages I
sent took 1 - 2 weeks to arrive!
Now I can't unsubscribe.
Think I'll wait for manual intervention.
Sigh.
Thanks for the help.

Have you tried looking here: http://groups.google.com/group/mmug-chat/subscribe

You can check and change which email address is used, amend your
subscription settings and also unsubscribe if needed.
It might help

Benjamin,

Sorry to ask this again, you helped me out with it before but I'm still getting two copies of all MMUG messages. Could you delete both of me from your database and I'll sign up again?

My problem is that I don't know both addresses that are being used for me. One is definitely this, William....@mac.com but what's the other? I can tell you that it'll probably end in @williamgallagher.com.

Again, sorry to ask, but I'm in a Get Things Sorted Out mood. It won't last.

Thanks,
William

Mails sent from blueyonder now bounce back so that part worked.

Mails sent from me.com do not appear very quickly. We'll see how long this takes to appear.
