Dear experts,

I setup MMM 2.0. 10 on one of our Production. It works fine until now.

But from the fatal log, warn log and error log, I often get this kind
of message:

"
FATAL Couldn't allow writes: ERROR: Can't connect to MySQL (host =
XXX.XXX.0.XXX:3306, user = repadministrator)! Can't connect to MySQL
server on 'XXX.XXX.0.XXX' (4)
"

But as I check into it, all works fine ... MMM do not do any
failover... DB is ok, connection is ok also ...

And because I setup a email notice with it(paging), I got annoying
"fake" pagings :(

these message may come with a average freqency every 2 hours once, I
do not know how to eliminate them ?
all my check done in default frequency, that is 5 seconds.

Any idea for it ? is that a configure issue ?

Thanks a lot.

hi experts,

I have grant super, replication client, process, replication slave and
reload to the monitor user and agent user,

why this "FATAL Couldn't allow writes: ERROR: Can't connect to MySQL"
still happens often ?

Is that common we can see this "FATAL Couldn't allow writes: ERROR:
Can't connect to MySQL" alert in error and info file ?

Thanks a lot.

Tomas,

Could not connect means MMM can't even connect to the host and its looks like its not about the privileges.
Are you sure its able to connect?

Btw the best practice to eliminate error messages is to solve the problem :)

thank you Istvan!

this scenario is quite annoying. I get such alert about 10 times per
day(more or less),
As my understanding, MMM checks MySQL connection every 5 seconds by
default, so, maybe each hour, I get only one such kind of an alert.

I check the network connection, it seems fine. Using mysql to connect
also OK.
Maybe it is because my network is not that stable? but I am not sure
about it :(

I have another question, need I manually put Dual master's standby DB
read-only ?, or MMM will check and do that automatically ?
If I put my dual-masters all in read-write mode, Can MMM change one of
them to read-only mode ?

Thanks a lot.

Yours Tomas
