Peace ya'll, I hope you're staying warm out there. I wanted to invite you to
check out this week's broadcast of That Fresh Radio Piece. We'll be
having...
1)Soffiyah Elijah, Deputy Director of the Criminal Justice Institute at
Harvard Law School and attorney for the San Francisco Eight.
The San Francisco 8 are former Black Panthers brought to court in the 1970's
during COINTELPRO, when the FBI and local police killed, tortured, arrested,
and framed hundreds of Black Panthers along with other leftists and
political dissidents. The SF8's case was thrown out after the evidence
against them was found to be based on torture.
With funds by Homeland Security's "war on terrorism", the San Francisco
Police have reopened the investigation of a 1971 police killing and have
once again, charged the San Francisco 8. We speak with their attorney,
Elijah about the current case.
2)We'll also have Cybille St. Aude, journalist of Just Realeyez Magazine and
Blog calling in.
She'll be discussing what her publication has been covering recently. They
just celebrated their 100th post and can be found at JustRealEyez.com
So check it out today, Wednesday from 6-8pm live on 88.1FM or wmucradio.com
