Hi all,

Have anybody tried Ubuntu 9.04? So far I think this is the best
release, as far as driver support and boot time is concerned I am a
bit impressed.

Well, I am a bit impressed with the new ext4 file system of Linux. It
took 15 min to copy 24Gb of data, while the same data on MacOS X took
50 min and windows it took more than 1 hour 15 min...

Have you all seen this!

ubuntume -> Muslim Edition

Ubuntu Muslim Edition is yet another free and open source operating
system based on the popular Ubuntu Linux distribution. What makes this
one special? Well, it comes customized with Islamic software, like
prayer times, an Arabic learning software, and etc.

I tried that Satanic version and Muslim version too.

Muslim version is cool. It comes with really great Islamic softwares.
I also posted about that in my blog last year.

Slightly Off Topic! But this is a warning to all FireFox Users On
Windows: The Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack update,
installed automatically through the Windows Update, adds
*Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant* firefox extension without asking
you anything. With this update it makes your firefox as unsecured as
Internet Explorer. As this extension enables websites you visit to
install software on your system without asking you anything. Well,
this was the first reason why I don't use IE and how IE help in
getting viruses. So if you have .NET framework installed along with
firefox I will advise you to remove this. However, Microsoft with
there power to control, have made it very difficult to remove this. If
you go to your Add-on in firefox, you will find that the Uninstall
button next to this extension will be disabled! Here's the most user
friendly way to remove this dangerous add-on from Firefox:

1. Open Registry Editor (type regedit in the Start menu Search box in
Vista/Windows 7, or in XP's Run window).
2. Expand the branches to the following key:
- On 32-bit systems: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Mozilla \
Firefox \ Extensions
- On x64 systems: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Wow6432Node \
Mozilla \ Firefox \ Extensions
3. Delete the value named {20a82645-c095-46ed-80e3-08825760534b} from
the right pane.
4. Close the Registry Editor when you're done.
5. Open a new Firefox window, and in the address bar, type
about:config and press Enter.
6. Type microsoftdotnet in the Filter field to quickly find the
general.useragent.extra.microsoftdotnet setting.
7. Right-click general.useragent.extra.microsoftdotnet and select
Reset.
8. Restart Firefox.
9. Open Windows Explorer, and navigate to %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Windows
\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Windows Presentation Foundation.
10. Delete the DotNetAssistantExtension folder entirely.
11. Open the Add-ons window in Firefox to confirm that the
Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant extension has been removed.

Windows is a total waste of time, that's why I use Ubuntu & Mac!

Adios

hi everyone,

Canonical has release the next version of Ubuntu, Karmic, beta. From
now on mostly the changes would be bug fixing. So I guess an early
peek will show what it will look like in the final version to be
release on 29th October 2009.

Faster bootup. More Stable. It even comes with tools which lets you
synchronize tomboy notes, contacts, bookmarks and other vital data
with the UbuntuOne service; if you are like me who maintain several
Linux installations, or regularly hack and tweak your system up-to the
point that you are better off reinstalling the whole thing, then this
service will be dearly appreciated by you.
