Hope someone has seen this before and can help:

installing to a PPC7200/120 w/ 104MB ram from a CD I made following the
instructions

Now on the install I get the following error...although the install
continues:

target 3: Sensed a Medium error
Unrecoverable Error, rz11: Read disk error, pys block no. 26406
Sense data; Medium error, segment 0, Info 0x00006726, L-EC uncorrectable
error

As I said the install continues with this message coming up occasionally.

The install is running as I type, so I do not know what happens when itry to
boot yet.

Any ideas?

thanks

Keith

That's a bad block. Your drive tries rereading several times, and
eventually gives this error. There are three things that can cause this:

A. a bad burn
B. dirty lenses
C. an old CD-ROM drive

If your CD-ROM drive is fairly old, you may have problems reading certain
CD-ROMs, especially those with colored backing. Beyond that, it's
probably either a bad burn or dirty lenses.

I had the same problem on my 7100/66 AV. My CD worked fine under Mac OS
for some reason. I got an external drive and copied everything over to
it. Did the install from the external and everything worked fine. Oh,
on that machine I absolutely cannot read 700 MB CD's, it has to have 650
MB. Must be ancient.
