EAAI-10: The First Symposium on Educational Advances in Artificial
Intelligence will be held July 13-14, 2010 in conjunction with AAAI-10
at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, Georgia.

EAAI-10 provides a venue for researchers and educators to discuss
pedagogical issues and share resources related to teaching AI and
using AI in education across a variety of curricular levels (K-12
through postgraduate training), with a natural emphasis on
undergraduate and graduate teaching and learning.

EAAI-10 is composed of multiple components, including:

* a technical program of refereed papers and invited talks

* special sessions of peer-reviewed "Model AI Assignments" that
highlight innovative, ready-to-adopt course assignments

* a workshop for mentoring new faculty/graduate students on teaching

* an Education track in the AAAI video program

* an Educational Robotics track in the AAAI Robotics Exhibition.

The EAAI-10 program showcases work across the educational spectrum.
For example, several papers focus on teaching AI and related topics
at the university level, while another set of papers focuses on
introducing students to computing at the K-12 level. The use of
games as a vehicle for teaching AI concepts is another area explored
in this year's program.

Registration

To register for EAAI-10, participants should register for AAAI-10
(https://www.aaai.org/Forms/aaai-registration-form.php) and include
EAAI-10 as an additional (free) item in their registration cart.
Note: the early registration deadline AAAI/EAAI is May 14, 2010.

Student and Faculty Scholarships

Thanks to the generosity of the National Science Foundation, we are
able to offer a limited number of scholarships to provide partial
support for the costs involved in attending EAAI. Please see

Workshop on Teaching and Mentoring

EAAI-10 also includes a workshop for new, experienced, and future
teachers with sessions on effective strategies in teaching AI as well
as handling difficult teaching issues (e.g., academic integrity,
balancing teaching with other obligations, etc.) If you are
attending EAAI-10 and are interested in serving on a workshop panel
or sharing your experiences, please contact Mehran Sahami
(sah...@cs.stanford.edu).
