but its just a permanently enabled "techdemo". it is a memory hog and
might crash the camera etc. (performance issues)

working for my 600D

That looks super. Great work!

looking as expected?
also uploaded latest revision again to the same URL as last time.
(non-5D)

maybe someone with experience in colorimetry can check if that display
shows something useful.
perhaps it needs some "calibration" :)

Hi g3gg0,

It don't work with a vectorscope. I'm just amazed by the speed in
which this was developed and how it looks. I'll try to load some
cropped screenshots and see if the vectorscope there behaves the same
as on the video if that helps.

Can I suggest that you try shooting a SMPTE color bar test pattern. It
is the broadcast standard and would land each color at the right
target.

Great work, would it run in unified or would the memory issues make it
D.O.A. for the rebel series cameras?

yeah, i've read about it on the same day i posted the video and wanted
to try that :)
here are the results: http://g3gg0.de/download/ML/vectorscope_test/SMPTE.png

photographed from a "calibrated" TFT display (Samsung SyncMaster
940BF) with a 600D, AWB enabled.
Screen was calibrated using SpyderExpress, so the calibration quality
may be crap, i dont know if its good quality (?)
Looks too blue-ish imho.

the interesting thing - if i focus perfectly, i get a lot noise at
green dot, but only few (repeating) artefacts between color dots.
if i back/frontfocus the TFT, the green noise gets better, but
artefacts between dots get stronger.
http://youtu.be/Q39dwHX35qw
first tft is perfectly focused, then i blur the image by turning focus
ring.
are the artefacts a result of some kind of invisible moire patterns?
the noise at green when focused looks like a result of moire imho.

sorry for shaking during recording, i had to hold a +10 lens in front
of my phone to record that video :)

Vectorscope available now in main builds (5D2 included). Memory usage should no longer be a problem, and it should play nice with other ML tools (for example, zebras and cropmarks).

How to use it: http://www.kdenlive.org/users/granjow/introducing-color-scopes-vectorscope

Other important changes (not related to vectorscope):
- Found a bug in Canon firmware which could overwrite ML code. Affected cameras: 550D, 600D, 1100D, but only when planets were aligned :) . Thanks to g3gg0 for insights on what was going on and for providing a clean fix ( http://bitbucket.org/hudson/magic-lantern/changeset/99e80332797c ).
- Fixed a stability problem in HDMI-VGA mode on 60D (and maybe other cameras too, I've only noticed it on 60D).
- Bulb ramping now working on 5D Mark II :)
- Lowered FPS limit as much as possible ( http://twitter.com/#!/autoexec_bin/statuses/158961665264717827 )
- ML only draws its graphic tools when Canon info displays are turned off
- Display presets are always switched with INFO or DISP key.
- Full changeset here: http://bitbucket.org/hudson/magic-lantern/changesets

Enjoy!

Alex,
IS there a way to get the latest 5D unified version?

Just an observation. I noticed that this build is much slower that the
11.12.22 version (Canon 60D). By slower I mean navigating in ML's menu
and playing with the options.

Kevin: just replace the autoexec.

OrhCh: are you using it in 720p mode?

Yes and no, I experienced the "lagging" when in photo mode too. In
video mode I tried 1080p and 720p modes. Both were not as snappy as
the 11.12.22 version

Alex,

Where is the download link for latest version of Unified for 5D?

Thx...

5D version is still in closed beta state (available to testers and supporters); if these experimental versions will work well, I'll release it to general public pretty soon.

According to my e-mail history, you are already running Unified ML on 5D2, so I don't understand your question. Just copy this autoexec over the old one.
