7d - downgradeable via tethered EOS Utility flashing?

An interesting thread over at Dpreview where one user claims to have
downgraded from 1.2.2 to 1.1.0 via the EOS Utility tethered method
(and not via the CF card)

Perhaps this method might work with Trammel's not-responding-to-
upgrades-anymore 7D?
