1. Picture day is Friday, Sept. 17th. Look over the picture
envelope with your parents and plan ahead.

2. Here a few announcements from the public library ~~ HYC, the
Huron Youth Connection, is back! Fifth through eighth graders are invited
to check out the HYC after school from 2:30 till 5:00, Monday through
Thursday at the public library. Have a snack, hang out with friends, play
games or work on homework. Visit twice and then join!

3. If you are going to be in the7th through 12th grade and
would like to make a difference at Huron Public Library while having some
fun, join the Teen Library Council. Applications are available at the
circulation and adult desks and [

meets monthly during the school year. In September, old and new members
alike can attend either Monday, September 13 or Friday, September 17 from
3- 4:30 PM Along with mapping out our year, we will be playing �Chain

4. Second Thursday Seminar� Introduction to Coin Collecting
Thursday, Sept. 9th, 6:30-7:30 PM
Rich Bevington will discuss the basics of coin collecting: What should one
collect? How does one organize a collection? Where can one get coins?
Where can one learn more? If you have a few coins you want to know more
about, bring them with you.

5. After a very close vote count, congratulations to the
following students who will serve as officers for the National Junior
Honor Society this year: President: Paige Graham, Vice-President: Ashton
Stadler, Secretary: Madi Orzech and Treasurer: Anna Tanaka
All members are reminded of their obligations for the Dance on Sept. 10th.
Check with Mrs. Aber if you've forgotten the jobs you signed up to do.

6. The first all school dance of the year will be on Friday, September
10th, from 2:45 to 4:30. The theme is Dance for the Cure, and the
National Junior Honor Society will make a donation from the proceeds of
the dance to the Susan G. Komen Search for the Cure. Tickets will be on
sale for $5 during lunch period starting next Tuesday through Friday.
Tickets can be bought at the door on Friday afternoon for $6.

7. There will be a student council meeting on Wednesday, during 8th
grade lunch. All 7th and 8th grade members are expected to attend.
Seventh grade members should sign out of study hall before coming to room
207.
