i'm a brainwashed sap

i believe almost anything that the authorities claim.

because i do not accept the idea that they would ever likely have much
of a reason to lie.

or that it's likely that they may be just plain wrong.

sure, on very rare occasions, they may get things wrong by accident,
but 99% of the time, they are right.

the news? mostly true.

preachers? mostly honest.

politicians? those who believe mostly as i do are far more honorable
and fair than those who believe and promote other agendas.

yes, i'm a brainwashed sap.

and i like it that way.

i have no real desire not to be brainwashed.

i'm too busy.

and scared.

Well, I don't think most people in authority are particularly
_honest_, but on the other hand, how can people coordinate their lies?

So if there is something that is being lied about by a lot of people,
it must be something that nearly everyone (especially the paranoid,
like you) believes in.

a shared mythology develops naturally.

mostly because nobody bothers to suitably verify the original lies/
errors.

or because the verification process does not lend itself to actual
verification.

it's much easier to accept the mythology and use it as a focus of
agenda.

anyway, skepticism is not paranoia.

and questioning authority is _definitely_ not paranoia.

it's a basic necessity of intelligence and creativity (and democracy).

paranoia is a delusion that everyone is out to get 'ya.

being a brainwashed sap is a delusion that you're not a brainwashed
sap.
