BTW: this applies to defeating terrorists as well.

not that's there's really any difference between
war-loving fascists and terrorists, mind you.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Zero, forgive me for sounding like a defeatist, but they cannot be defeated
except by themselves) which appears to be happeninig in Iraq. :-)

In the mean time, like Voltaire, tend your mathematical garden and be ready
for the great day: it's not far off. The yankee running dogs cannot
extricate themselves from Iraq; they're going to take a bigger hit than
Vietnam over their STUPID blunder and the Republican Party will be disgraced
for two or three generations. :-0 :-0 :-0

The US economy is on the brink, with an aging population
going into retirement we cant afford

and worse... civil servants retiring at 4 to 15 times the
national average at age 51 in many cases..(over 100,000
dollars a year for city of SF police for example)... the
figures havent leaked out in most cases but the City of San
Diego and Novatto calif say 42% of their city taxes go to pay
for retirements... the feds cant be far behind.

With that expense and interest on the national debt things
will get nasty in the US if it doesnt control the worlds
oil.... and the drug trade (CIA runs approx 30% of the worlds
illicit drugs, much of into the US, thats per testimony before
congress)..that trade money goes to US banks and funds about
half of our economy...a vital 'necesity' as we have hyper
inflated our dollar driving off foreign investment (we used to
get 80% of the worlds investment dollars, thats going to china
now, we get about 20%)

Thats why we are in Iraq. .. if oil prices free float the US
will be out of business.

Sadam Hussein had anounced that he was going to start selling
oil in euro's only.. that would have sunk the US economy.

Were we smart about stopping it?

No. Its a dirty world. A nation typically becomes so corrupt
and bloated that it must play dirty to survive. Thats been
going on heavily for the last 20 years. The chickens will be
coming home to roost over the next 5 years.

I'll take your word for it, Phil.

It was reported at the time and I remember it well.

In 2008, you're economy will crash due to its demographics.
