something i'll never quite understand is why people spend all that
money to buy a big screen tv and then watch it with the picture cut-
off (and/or majorly distorted) just so that the whole screen is filled
with an image.

well, that's not entirely true.

i actually do understand _why_ they do that.

what i don't understand is why they're pleased with doing so.

that i'll never understand.

I'm constantly annoyed, feeling ripped off. We paid for the big screen,
shouldn't we always get it filled?

But, I get it.

When I saw the subject line I thought you might be making an

Just set it up so you're watching 7 or 8 movies at once. Get your
money's worth.
