I am designing some new business cards and need some input. Does your
card say freelance writer, writer/editor, whatever specialty writer?
I want to jazz it up. I am actually making two sets. One for corporate
writing, the other for general interest writing, magazines and such.
Thanks.

What's wrong with that? Whoever your target markets are. Some you can
combine safely, like corporate and business writing. The other can say
writer, or freelance writer, for the more general stuff.

With a laser printer, you can make up business cards to suit any
occasion. For me, it's
Chemical instrumentation design.
Gas sensor specialist.
Writer.
Hit man.
Too big to fail.

Wow! Chemical instrumentation design sounds complicated! Do you write
about that stuff too?
I haven't tried the ol laser card bit, but I don't think they would
look very professional.I am designing with an online printer. They use
good heavy card stock and are cheap.

You can get good deals on printing jobs, what with so many people
going to laser printing and such.

The laser-printed cards work just fine when you just need them once in
a while. Almost all of my business is conducted by Net.

My cards are on the Avery material. It's about 40# stock, not as heavy
as most professionally printed cards, but good enough for my needs.
The edges separate cleanly if you buy good stock, like the Avery
stuff.

Most of my instrument design work is in professional publications. I
have a web site, but I'm still preparing content for the
instrumentation work.

I have special cards for that, with rohypnol impregnated.

using extremely plain lettering, too.

right smack in the middle of the card.

no elaborations whatsoever.

no contact info.

no cutesy slogans.

no fancy logos.

i hand them out to whomever i meet.

keeps me very busy.

...

i'm a living breathing screenplay, i guess.
