i've become a better speller.

i never used to use spell check.

but now that it happens automatically as i type, and gives me various
possible word options w/ a quick and easy right-click of a mouse
button over the _immediately_ highlighted word, i use it all the
fucking time. partly because i have no choice.

as a writer, the idea that i have never used spell check probably
sounds rather insane to you.

because surely these features have long been part of all popular word
processors for years and years.

but i almost never used word processors to write.

at best, i'd used Notepad, which still has no spell check.

but now that i can open up a web page instantly, and Firefox (or
whatever) already has spell check activated, it's become so easy and
natural to make use of spell checker that i can offer up almost no
resistance to it whatsoever.

still, i refuse to capitalize and whatnot, and hopefully none of that
will become automated by Firefox (or whoever).

but i have indeed become a better speller simply by virtue of the
constant alerts i am given as i type.

i've learned by rote.

even most of my typos have been eliminated.

...

anyway, there was never any spell check when i wrote stuff on paper.

i wonder if i used to capitalize back then...?

the main reason i don't capitalize now is that it requires the
simultaneous depression of the {Shift} key.

one of these days, i'll have to go back and check my notebook archives
to see how and when i capitalized stuff.

but not now, nope.

because right now i'm far too busy plowing out more and more useless
nonsense.

...

by the way, spell check, i still insist that spellcheck should be one
word, not two.

so fuck you.

Now, if only you were capable of conquering grammar and punctuation.
