Hi!

Would like to meet some kindred spirit, creative friends for
lively exchange and spirited conversation. I am most
particularly interested in making new friends (30's, female or
single male) locally - in the intown Atlanta area. In the
last few years, way too many of my local friends have
relocated! Would love to meet fun, creative new people who
enjoy bookstore browsing, coffeehouses, vegetarian dining, art
house films, hanging out, having fun, meeting great new people
together. :) I'm single, female, and young mid-30's.

The more similar interests we share, the more fun our talk
will be:

* serious writer, strong writing background
* writing poetry, sudden fictions, (first) novel, magazine
articles, children's writing
* talk about literary journals, writing markets,
competitions and grants
* freelancing and the freelancer's life
* poetry (Plath, Sexton, Jarrell, Lowell, Roethke, Yeats,
the Romantics, the Beats, Whitman, Goldbarth, Olds,
Forche)
* fiction (Irving, Atwood, Kundera, Valerie Martin, Wilton
Barnhardt, Forster, women writers, Southern fiction, 19th
c. literature)
* well-written American mysteries (Raymond Chandler, James
Lee Burke, women detectives)
* Southern culture, literature, history, travel, life
* cinema (Woody Allen, Altman, Sayles, Kieslowski,
Merchant-Ivory, THE PIANO, FANNY AND ALEXANDER, silents,
film noir, Sturges, Wilder, Hitchcock, screwball
comedies, costume dramas, films based on literature or
history, French cinema)
* Julia Cameron, Natalie Goldberg, Sark - freewriting and
creativity
* arts, crafts, creative fun
* art history, iconography, folk art (Howard Finster)
* single life, relationship/dating talk, meeting people
(singles in their 30's)
* Tweener Generation, born 1958 - 65, growing up in the
1960's -'70's ... BRADY BUNCH, Buffy, old music,
PARTRIDGE FAMILY, vintage toys, slumber party stories
* fairytales, folklore, urban legends, ghost stories
* select TV - Nick at Night, ANDY GRIFFITH, FRASIER, DREW
CAREY, SEINFELD, CAROLINE IN THE CITY :)
* GUIDING LIGHT (have been watching since 1975 - don't have
time to read the newsgroup or maillist and would love to
exchange fun GL talk/gossip)
* vegetarian cooking/ideas/life (lacto-ovo, 8 years)
* Beatles (and 1960's - early '70's pop in general)
* antiques and collectibles (Victoriana and 1950's - '60's
collectibles)
* classic children's lit for girls (Alcott, Wilder, BETSY-
TACY, Nancy Drew)
* cats, birds, small dogs, other small housepets (rabbits,
ferrets, guinea pigs, fish)

If we have 4 or 5 (or more!) things in common, I would love to
hear from you. I'm in Atlanta, and writing to people close by
would be the most fun, since we could talk online and off! If
not Atlanta, then at least someone who travels to Atlanta
often on business or visits regularly because of strong family
ties. I have very limited time online, and am really looking
to meet local people primarily.

Please reply via email, since I rarely have time to read the
AOL forums or newsgoups! Thanks :)
