A customer just e-mailed me that the 2 books she ordered from me weren't in
the padded envelope. All this person found was an apology note from the
post office. I sealed the package well so the books didn't just fall out.
As a result of this, my customer is out $50 and 2 of my books didn't arrive
where they should have. What can I do about this mail tampering? What
compensation can I receive from U.S. Post for this theft of my books?
Sincerely,
Bruce Atchison - author of Deliverance from Jericho (Six Years in a Blind
School) and When a Man Loves a Rabbit ((Learning and Living With Bunnies).
I bought a book for a relative that got lost in the mail under similar
circumstances. The vendor (who was also the author) mailed me another
with no questions asked.
I thought that was a remarkable gesture.
(Hi, Bob! You're a gem! Thanks, again!)
