First, I've noticed several of the rubber spacers for that fit into the
handrail securements mounted onto the ceiling visibly work their way out of
the securement and start down the very top of the metal rail. In some cases,
it appears this has been fixed by having an additional screw through the
ceiling mount part that also goes through the rubber spacer and into the
metal handrail.
Second, I've noticed that the handrails near the rear doors do feel rather
loose on some buses. These are the yellow handrails to the right of either
rear door. Some of this may be due to passengers grabbing the rails while
the bus is still moving, but I'd expect these rails to be able to withstand
those kind of forces.
I don't have an issue with the seats on these buses, but at this time it
looks like I really wouldn't want to be a standee on that type of bus.
Is this just poor maintenance on the part of the bus company, or is this the
overall build quality of those buses?
