That fence/wall is a joke. As the Republican governor of Texas recently
remarked, "Show me a fifty-foot wall, I'll show you a fifty-foot ladder."

Within a week of its going up, it'll look like a long, tall, gray Swiss
cheese.

I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and
causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. . . . Corporations

and the money-power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by
working upon the prejudices of the people until the wealth is aggregated
in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed.

The only way to control that border is to start jailing the bastards who
hire them over here!

If we hadn't stopped enforcing the law we wouldn't need the wall. Since we
can't count on effective prosecution, then a wall is necessary before any
other action.

Buying materials at retail prices and paying union wages we could build a
concrete wall from CA to TX for $18 billion. The purpose of "virtual
fences" or high-tech surveillance is to generate a huge price tag and still
have wide gaps in the border. Nothing will require less maintenance than a
concrete wall over time, not a fleet of $2 million UAVs, not an
movement-sensing fence and a hundred TV monitors.

It's like the frenzy after a school shooting. If two left-handed teens
shoot up their school, the lawmakers will rush to pass a law outlawing
shooting of school children by left-handed teens that steal their uncle's
gun. The point being all the effort is put into being seen to take action
and no thought is given to why the other 20,000 laws were of no consequence.

I'm a little tired of people that live surrounded by armed guards, travel in
up-armored limos, and give background checks to anyone before they meet with
them telling me it's racist to notice the flood of criminals moving to my
town. It's unimportant to them that aliens are 3 times more likely to
commit other crimes than the natives or that criminal aliens are bringing
tubucerlosis and drugs with them.

If run in our current fashion yes it will. I have been through checkpoint
Charlie in Berlin. On the west side was a museum, dedicated to the escapees
that made it across. There was a lot of unique, innovative schemes for
crossing that wall. But the museum was very small. Thats an indicator of the
effectiveness of the structure & the effectiveness of those guarding it.
Where are the engineers & the guards? I know their probably old but hey
they'd make great teachers. It didn't take long to erect the relatively
short span but what the hell this is America. I bet we could have the damn
thing built in a year for a lot less drain on the economy than these illegal
immigrants are burdening us with. A 700 mile Berlin wall. Worked for the
commies.......it'll work here.

Perhaps Mexico could do like the East Germans... build a fence to keep
their people in!

--
"For it is increasingly clear - to those in Government, business, and labor
who are responsible for our economy's success - that our obsolete tax system
exerts too heavy a drag on private purchasing power, profits, and
employment. Designed to check inflation in earlier years, it now checks
growth instead. It discourages extra effort and risk. It distorts the use of
resources. It invites recurrent recessions, depresses our Federal revenues,
and causes chronic budget deficits."

As Far as Vinnie Fox is concerned, the more Mexicans he can get rid of
the better.

And why not? Look at the enormous sums of US cash their sending back to that
third world shithole. Thats why he's so opposed to us sending them back. Its
like another "foreign aid" check from Estados Unidos.

I know it won't stop all of them, but it may slow the influx down enough to
get a better handle on the ones that are already here..

It'll be a very expensive Swiss cheese. What's needed is precisely what
Congress won't do: confiscations of businesses that hire illegals, or at
the least stiff fines equal to ten times what wages to an American
citizen would have been--and for a second offense, a prison term.
They're trying to solve the problem from the wrong end of the string.

I have been saying for a long time that the Mexican govt. needs to step
the fuck up and take control of their side of the border if they want
to keep in our good graces.

I would call V. Fox into conference and tell him point blank to close
his side or risk losing all financial support from the U.S. and
scrapping NAFTA, as well as new tarriffs on mexican goods to make up
for the expense of so many mexican nationals using our public services.

Yes! Nothing constructive will happen 'till the politicians--both
sides-- get the message that throwing taxpayer money at the problem just
will not be tolerated. Big business created the problem; they give the
fat contributions to politicos to keep them looking the other way while
our country is being given away. Big business created the problem by
providing the jobs: make them straighten it out. A two pronged attack:
go after V Fox; start jailing employers. And put the money allocated
for that silly fence back in the treasury.

In principal I agree with you. But if they are here (12,000,000), and
if they become diseased, the disease will spread to all of us if they
are not treated. When the growing season is gone along with most of the
jobs for a few months, they *will* feed their children--they will steal
and murder for their babies if they must.

First things first: *First*, go after the employers; second as JD
suggests, slap Mexico and Fox in the mouth. Then slowly tighten up the
services thing, 'till they got no choice but to go home and straighten
out their own country. We could help in that regard, by helping them to
form strong unions that will force their own top 1% that comprise their
upper class to share the wealth of a fairly rich nation.

As the most popular radio talk show host said a while back. "We should spend
the money to build a virual wall at the border when the White House and
Capitol building are protected by a virtual wall alone. If not, then don't
bother.
