Been meaning to post this for a few days. Saw this thing going
through the POE at Cheyenne last Thursday. It's a sub-press for
fabrication, going from Texas to Utah. 130 ft long, from lead tractor
to push tractor, 464,000 lbs, 16 ft wide, required 6 pilot cars and
police escort. Could not go any faster than 55 mph, could you imagine
this thing going down Sherman, or through Parley's. Based on the
oversize rules in Wyoming, they cannot run at night or in bad weather,
so based on the incoming weather they figure it would take them 4 days
to get from Cheyenne to SLC.

I think I have only ever once seen a pusher tractor and if memory serves
that was on I80 in PA. Did you get any pictures?

Unfortunetly no, I haven't been carrying my camera in the truck. One
other thing I forgot on this, it was 18ft tall, the trailer it was on
was huge. Very specialized trailer, used pivot/drawbar axle mounts.

Now, IMPOSTER, figure out how to get rid of the supernews.com when someone
replies to group.

What is a sub-press?

The biggest thing I saw while otr was on of those pylons for those wind mills
similiar to those in West Texas and California. Don't imagine it weighed
anything near 464,000 lb though.
