I don't see how anything less than 110v or that you could comforatably
fit in a cab would keep up with the pollution coming in.
I like to maintain positive cabin pressure by always running the fan,
keeping the HVAC system from recirculating and a window cracked, at
least.
Checking the breeze when parking and trying to stay upwind helps keep
the exhaust from coming in my cab. And not parking around other trucks
if I can help it.
That's the best advice I can offer.

I had something different, called an air ionizer. It essentailly makes a
continuous spark which claims to eventually improve the air quality. It
made a faint electrical smell and little more. Not worth the $9 or $12 I
spent on it.
You're not leaving the truck's heat/ac always in the "recirc" or
recirculation position are you? That will trap the moisture and cab smells
inside.
Is there a specific problem you are trying to solve or some goal of using
the air purifier? Many of these things are little more than cheap fans with
cheap filters packaged in a 12 volt box and sold for far more than they are
worth.

Whatever you do, do not get one of those that ionize the air. If those are
turned up too high, they can cause more damage, to your lungs, than being a
heavy smoker.
I saw a printout of an article, that talked about ionizers and wish I could
find it on the web again.
I have noticed that Sharper Image now is trying to find an alternative to
the ionized air products they sold for years, so maybe they know something.
Basically, if an air purifier really purifies the air, you shouldn't be able
to smell it.

filters out the dust and dander and it really helps me sleep at night.

bother. I've had three kinds, from standalone plug-in to fan circulated;
all ineffective. No noticeable change in air quality.
However, i did notice that the bunk and cab walls were getting discolored
after a month or two. Apparently the ionizers charge particlesfloating in
the air, which then are attracted to surfaces inside the room (or truck).
Effective modern ionizing scrubbers have oppositely charged surfaces within
the device that attract the particles, collecting them before they are
passed out of the 'cleaner'. None of the affordable devices i've seen sold
out there have internal collectors. The devices seems merely to charge
particles, which then stick to whatever happens to be available. As for
health risks due to ozone, there are many sites on the net you can browse to
form your own opinion of its risks and benefits. It's your call re:
ionization; i wont waste my money until they get some REAL quality devices
out there.
Myself, i used an inverter powerd non-ionizing HEPA filter air cleaner in
the truck. IT seems that a household unit run off of an inverter is cheaper
than the custom 12v units, and more effective. I had a cheap 110v Bionaire
filter unit running on low speed through a 140w plug in inverter (max draw
at high speed was 35w, since all it powers is an internal fan). The filter
needed replacment monthly ($15 for a twin pack). Sadly, my unit died a
natural death after three years of bouncing around in the truck, and i'm
shopping about for a replacement of slightly higher capacity since they
stopped making a replacement for mine soon after i bought it.

You should know, that regardless of what side you unhook first, you have to
put the cap on or in before it touches the ground.

I researched these for some time in plans on buying one. They're not
recommended if you burn any candles in the house. Something to do with the
smoke from the candles messing up the unit.

If, in fact, he HAS such a job. Just like his alleged job hauling
oversized loads. I'm not aware on many reputable companies that will
give a rookie with his employment record a job like that. And I am
sure tanker companies are just as selective. Especially one that hauls
hazmat loads.
He claims to have been a driver for, what, 2-3 years now? I'll bet
Bullis is getting a little nervous at this point. Rocky's getting

Ozone was messing up people lungs. So, even though the article above, talks
about Ozone scaring lungs, it didn't go into detail about people that have

In short, I might not always be right, but I try to be and that is more than
I can say for you.

To those of you that just tuned in. This newsgroup was free of the bullshit
about my CDL for 2 months maybe longer until Tim/realitychallenged ate shit
from Dave Ruff above and then restarted the CDL bullshit with Tim's above
post on February 21, 2006.
I understand Tim now. Tim is basically a queer Troll in heat. Tim's
"Mating Call" is to show the other Trolls that he eats shit by posting shit.
And occasional a troll will eat his shit too and that does not help this
newsgroup.
