Hauled my first Oversize Load this week.

Friday after I got back to the yard, I almost started to cry when I had to
give the Cabover back. But, through a strange twist of fate, I get it one
more week, maybe longer.

Why is the Cabover so neat when it isn't as fast as my Conventional?
1. It has a better CB
2. I love the remote right side mirror.
3. The windows have less pits in them, since they have been replaced
before.
4. It does not smell like smoke as bad.
5. Seems to have better Jake brakes.
6. While it has a lower top end, it does not take as long to reach the
speed limit.
Note: I hope I can keep it until the first snowfall.

Now, what is wrong with a Cabover.
1. They ride so ruff, that your microphone can bounce out of the holder.
2. They ride so ruff, that if you leave a Pepsi in the holder ½ hour, it
will shake the fizz out of it before it gets warm.
3. Sometimes you find yourself stomping your feet, only because the rest of
you is bouncing all around too.
4. Yep, they ride so ruff, that you occasionally have to slow down and
drive with your flashers on.

Ya know...

What would you think if you went to misc.wood.carpenters and read a post
from a guy saying: "I pounded 345 nails today"?

Or...

"In 1 year 7 days 16 hours and 34 minutes in the industry I've hammered
12,345 nails and cut 567 two-by-fours"?

Or...

"I had a wood hammer but now my boss is gonna give me a fiberglass one
cause fiberglass transmits more vibration"?

Would you think this is a skilled journeyman who hammers nails and cuts
wood all the time?

Just wondering...

I'd say he/she was pretty slow with the hammer. That's less than 1
nail per minute.

Now he/she is really getting slow. Must be a union carpenter.

Sounds like a want-a-be carpenter to me. Kinda like a want-a-be
truckdriver.

BTW I guess I should have allowed a couple of break per day.

Most of the carpenters I know never talk about their job. They talk
NASCAR or fishing.

Bet you-know-who won't figure your example out gpsman.

From what I saw of the other post, he was trying to relate pounding nails to
driving a cabover? If that is the case, I wonder what he does during the
day.

Well, I do not plan to bring up those issues again, I figured once was OK,
but I guess I was wrong there.

This isn't going to help your ego but at your level of experience, ego
isn't what you need.

What I'm trying to tell you is most of your posts are "common
knowledge".

1- Many drivers here have driven a cabover (COE). Most of those who
haven't can look at a COE, see the seat is over the front wheels and
deduce the ride is brutal.

2- Acceleration isn't a big issue in trucks... because driving
isn't a race.

3- All trucks shake the fizz out of a can of soda before it gets warm.

4- "Better" companies wouldn't think of providing a truck w/o
electrically adjustable mirrors.

5- The Jake works better on your COE because a COE weighs less.

These are things experienced drivers already know!
-----

A good analogy (I hope) would be me going to an aviation NG and posting:

1- When I increase the throttle I gain altitude.

2- When I pull back on the yoke I lose airspeed.

All pilots know these things so I'd kinda look like I was flying without
really knowing what I was doing and/or with a really bad instructor...
and didn't know it.
-----

With the advent of the internet drivers can discover the price of fuel
across the country at their leisure.

Information about the smell in your truck *is* unique and, I'm sure,
pertinent to *your* life... it just isn't something *I* find
interesting.

Instead of posting these tidbits of info here I feel your time might be
better utilized talking to more experienced drivers in truck stops.

Reveal your findings on the ride quality of COE's or the price of fuel
face-to-face and note the reactions you receive.

The reason you get flamed to crispy critterdom here is that *everybody*
here already knows *everything* you know about trucking, and then some.
You're far more likely to learn something here than reveal any new
information.

There's no shame in being a rookie. A few of us were born with a seat
belt around us, but not many. We all started right where you are. One
difference is we didn't try to tell experienced drivers anything, we
listened and learned. Ya might at least try it for awhile...

Hope this helps.

It would look like you were not a pilot but just a wannabe pilot.
It's posts like those that makes everyone think he's not a driver. He
posts utter nonsense 98% of the time. Just to see his name on the

This is a catch 22. The more you, or Dave Ruff, try to say that I do not
drive an 18-wheeler for a living, the more I will try to prove that wrong.

I can catch the three mistakes I have made this month. 67' instead of 63
foot, 6 red flags instead of 4, and the sign says OVERSIZE LOAD instead of
OVERSIZED LOAD. There I hope you are happy now.

Proving you're a driver couldn't be easier. Just post your name, your
carrier and their phone number and you're done.

Proving you possess a CDL- scan it and post it in .jpg format on your
picture site.

Personally, I'm without doubt. But if you're hell-bent on proving your
status as a driver these solutions should solve *some* of your problems
on this NG...

*Then* I would expect tunes other than your own to change... some...

Hope this helps.

Maybe you should go back and re-read some old posts, Amy, he came to
this group as a new driver and asked for advice. When experienced
drivers gave him good sound advice he ignored it and started a flame
war. He admitted to unsafe driving practices and when he was called on
the carpet for it he, like the fool he is, actually defended those
unsafe practices. Combine that with his support of the pedophile and
that was all it took for people to start to hate his guts.
Yeah, maybe you're right, in a way, he had help...from Bullis.

As for the "pedophile" crap. I pointed out, after dealing with Walker, I
changed my viewpoint and they continue to be assholes. Mine was just a
viewpoint not a way of life, but they are too stupid to see that.

Basically, RT, you are the asshole here. I've taken advice from Scott, I
listened to Walker and you continue to treat me like shit.

HMMMM...best riding truck i have EVER been in was a cabover. Seems to me
that you have liustened to the CB radio too much. Just find a driver
that has driven or ridden in a FORD CL9000 with an "air glide" cab and
they will definately agree that it was a truck ahead of its time.

gpsman,

Rookies read this newsgroup too. Just because you don't like my post
doesn't give you the right to BITCH BITCH BITCH for everybody.

In your BITCH BITCH BITCHING you never even said anthing about this
statement from my initial post:

"Hauled my first Oversize Load this week."

Now are you going to tell me everybody on this newsgroup hauls Oversized
less than 13 months after they start driving?

God, I can not believe all the fucking shit I get just for posting period.

Take a closer look at this thread itself and see how quickly it goes down
hill and don't forget there is at least one good reply from Jay Dee and
maybe more.

The people wonder why the number of posters here is dwindling.

It is becaues they get *shit* on for posting things that are brand new to
them.

It turned out the Cabover had bad shock absorbers and after they were
replaced, it rode a lot better.

Oddly enough, the posters that would bitch about the above post, like gpsman
and realitytrasher, never remarked that I had hauled my first oversized load
less than 13 months after I started driving. No, they were too busy
shitting on me for posting period!

The Cabover talked about above, was the same one I used to pull my 100+ foot
trailer at this site:
http://wookiee.home.att.net/temp/SeventyFootTrailer.html

Oh yes, Dave Ruff didn't have a "Meltdown." In reality he could not
continue to conceal all the information he knew about me, so he basically
committed newsgroup suicide with the post at this URL:

Roger, what were you trying to accomplish with this repost? It shows
that in 2004 mtt regulars were being nice to you, and trying to
explain why your posts were annoying. You didn't, and still don't,
seem to grasp that The Roger Show isn't interesting to anyone but
you. You seem to have thought then, and still do now, that other
posters should hang on your every word, believe everything you say,
and care about you. Why? Why should anyone remark on what you say
you hauled? They haul stuff every day, and don't generally discuss
it. Why should they have cared enough about you to remark on what you
said you did in a day, or comment on posts giving information that's
old hat to them? Why are you sobbing now that nobody in mtt cared
what you said you were hauling? Should they take note of everything
you say, and when you say it?

Are you really that narcissistic? Yes, I suppose so. You thought
Cheryl's world revolved around you, so I guess in Roger-logic it makes
a sort of sense that mtt's world should revolve around you as well.
You keep saying things like "remember, I blah blah blah back on Feb.
29, 1902" or whatever as though you think other posters should have
made note of what you said or did. Why should they care? Why should
they have cared in 2004, 2005, or any other time? What makes you so
worthy of notice? How many hits to your "All About Roger" sites do
you get in a day?

Really, Roger. Legit question. Why do you think mtt should care
about you?

If you saw the original post, you would have seen that gpsman removed this
part:

"Hauled my first Oversize Load this week."

My whole post was really bragging about hauling my first oversized load and
there is another post somewhere that points out the only reason I was
allowed to do that was because the Cabover I had was fully equipped to do
that. My other truck did not have what it needed for oversized and I might
have never hauled oversized today if I hadn't been in a Cabover.

ONCE MORE. Don't look at what gpsman posted, but what he did not post.

Besides, gpsman didn't consider the rookies or the wannabes, he was only
bitch because he knows it all!

< BULLSHIT REMOVED >

> Really, Roger. Legit question. Why do you think mtt should care
> about you?

Get your head out of a fucking basket. The whole issue is it that for
anybody to complain about another poster is only adding to the problem.

In realiyt it is TROLLBAIT to bitch about how other people post.

The facts from this newgroup prove that once TROLLBAIT is planted in a
highly volitile newsgroup then BULLSHIT will start to spread in no time
flat.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but just the fact that gpsman is trying to tell
me how to post makes him the TROLL not me.

Since when were there rules on misc.transport.trucking that says you can't
post about the first time you pull an oversized load?

mtt should NOT care if I want to post about when I pulled my first oversized
load or not.

Look what happened in *this* very thread itself.

The thread started out with the very words:

"Hauled my first Oversize Load this week."

And then it turned in remarks like these:

kc0iv
"Sounds like a want-a-be carpenter to me. Kinda like a want-a-be
ruckdriver."

SlowRide9430:

"Nice try, but it won't. You can't teach someone who already knows it all."

realitytrasher:

"but he had to start posting with a bad attitude and now no one can stand
him."

zeke@work:

"What a whining little crybaby puke. Go play with your toys little man."

But go back to the original post. Why was it so important for posters to
trash it immediately and completely?

----------------------------------------

I could go on and on and on, with just this thread itself, showing what type
of *shit* I get just for posting about "my first Oversize Load"

JJ posted an interesting story the other day. If I had posted a story just
like that, a group of trolls would have hammered the hell out of my post
just like they did to me on this thread.

Dave Ruff was the one that declared me "Open Season." I have all the old
post. I can see the trend that leads up to you posting with my name and
e-mail address and after that nobody cared.

To make a long story short. This newsgroup *has* to learn what "Trolls"
really are. Trolls are posters who will make bad jokes and then have their
jokes turned into ammunition for a flame-war by realitytrasher.

Trolls don't care about facts all they want to do is fuck with you and
realtytrasher proves that to a 'T'.

You can follow realitytrasher's ideas for a flame-war back to Dave Ruff
every single time.

But not only can you follow realitytrucker's ideas back to Dave Ruff, the
last time reatlitytrasher started to fuck with me, on February 21, 2006,
realitytrasher did it in a reply to Dave Ruff!

-----------------------------------------

So what if I want to post about my first oversized load. Don't you think
this newsgroup would have been a lot better off if they just let me post
about my first oversize load instead of taking turns fucking me?

This is basically the same thing that happened to Martin. Martin asked
about downshifting and the shit started to fly immediately. POSTERS SHOULD
NOT CARE ABOUT ME. I was the only one that tried to give Martin the answer
he was looking for. Nobody else remembered his original question.

POSTERS SHOULD LEARN DAVE RUFF GAVE THEM THE IDEA TO FUCK WITH ME WITH
FLAMEBAIT AND NOW THEY CAN NOT STOP!!!

Had this been a moderated group, Dave Ruff would have never been allowed to
post what he did on February 17, 2004 and all this shit can be tied into to
the thread he started then.

There, are you starting to see what the issue really is?

Posters should not make such a big fuss about what or how ANYBODY POST.
Once more, gpsman who was the one that first turned this thread into shit
did not care about Rookies or Wannabes. gpsmand was just looking for a way
to fuck me and any way he could regardless of the posters that treated the
exact same post as a legitamate post.
