Dusted off my Usenet reader to say hello to most of those I remember from years ago in here. How about a roll call? I've left the Northeast and moved to Tennessee. May marks 15 years driving with the company I intended to put in just a year with. My pidcast is still going strong - roughlt 20,000 hits per episode, so lifebis good! How's everyone else?

I check the board from time to time. I'm still running the same US Mail HCR
for the past 8 years. I paid off the house, the cars, and now life is
pretty good. Still no accidents or citations.

Welcome back dude.
Thanks to NY AG General Cuomo years ago, usenet is practically dead now.
MTT has practically died.
Rocky ocassionally posts his old bullshit.

I quit driving in 07. My trust fund has been flipping the bills.
I now live in florida near orlando. I'm not saying where exactly here.

you haven't missed much.

Proving my point.
In 1997 those figures would have been ten times that.
Cuomo, as the AG, thretened a number of ISP's with a charge of harboring
child pornography because they found 11,000 images of the shit on usenet.
Rather than standing up and fighting the asswipe, they chickened out and
just dropped usenet completely. Their customers were now faced with not
having the groups, or paying for them. Most of the customers just didn't
bother to sign up elsewhere.

Cuomo could not have won his case as there are laws protecing the ISP from
being held harmless. That is, you can't sue the news stand or the library.
Dennis Vaco, Cuomo's predecessor, found that out the hard way as he tried
prosecuting two NY based usenet providers.

Yeah right. Look up 24hoursupport.helpdesk for 1997 through 1999.
Then check for 2012.
At that time, 24hshd was one of the top 10 most active groups.
There were something like 30 to 50 active people every day responding to
questions of every kind.

I actually got a compliment of sorts back then as one guy once said, "Every
time I consider plonking him, he comes up with more information that I
need."

BTW remember the video I posted on my wookiee website from Trick My Truck?
Well, it turns out the woman in that video is still around town but she sold
her truck.

Its dead......sorry. Thinking of canceling my Forte account as usenet
is virtually DOA. Still access a couple of going groups though, but
only check MTT once or twice a month.

To Barry Helveston. Considering what day it is, I can lie about your CDL
today if I wanted to. BTW you sure helped to screw up realtytrasher with
all your BS.

To Corky Freeman: Who cares?

To Douglas Frederick who wrote nothing on this thread: And I could have
sworn you posted somewhere that you would be the last poster on this
newsgroup. That must have been another one of your BIG lies.
