I'm planning on being there unless something happens.

I am still on the fence on this one, there is a toy show in St. Louis
that Sunday but I am not sure if I can tie these 2 together into one
big 5 day weekend, work and the wife will have to decide on this.

Friday July 16-Saturday July 17. Sorry. I know I should be doing the
typical month-out stuff. Been preoccupied. Will get to you all by the
end of the week.
At this time, I am planning on being there.
Unforseen events could always interfere.
I was originally planning on bunking in Colo, but will probably opt for
Marshalltown Super 8 instead.

I, too, am planning to attend unless something comes up. I will either stay at
the Marshalltown Super 8 or Comfort Inn, depending on which one might be able to
provide free nights depending on how many Wyndham or Choice points I have.
I will actually be able to drive on the tour this time, since I have a vehicle
capable of carrying more than one person.

Notice I'm still waffling on a 9:30/10 start time. (In all honesty,
this is because I'm selfish and worrying about whether _I_ will be
able to get up. Stupid, perhaps, but the past month has not been good
to me.)
But now that it's a month out, it's time to a) get a list and b) get
your input on the start time. I have quite a full schedule, so 9:30
would be a much better option, if only so we can actually get going
around 10.
Also, with my new car, and since I'm the guide, I will be the other
driver, so unless we have more than 10 attending H.B. and I can handle
everyone.

I should be able to haul three others besides myself for a total of four.
Iffy for me, much as I'd like to be there.
I plan to be there. Between now and then I'll be in contact with
relatives in Newton to possibly save on hotel expenses.
I did get my Jeep fixed since the Ohio meet and can set it up to haul
three besides myself if necessary.

What was the problem? Alignment/balance or something more sinister?
I might be able to make *Saturday* only. I have no extra vacation days
as I'm going to Providence in August. I'm close enough for it to be a
day trip anyway.

Looks like I can't make it though I may still be in St Louis that
weekend for a toy show and may do some new county clinching in MO and
IL too. Hope you guys have fun!

Stabilizer shock and link pins. Total $400 plus new tires (which
needed replacing anyway after 50k miles). It had gotten to the point
that it would shake violently at 50 and would not quit until getting
below 40, which is unsafe on freeways.
In: Brian R., H.B., MLOM
Sat only: Jason Hancock
Out: Oscar, Scott O., US 71
Of the two days, I will likely get in about 3/4 of each day's activities.
I may be joining in at lunch in Tama on Friday, possibly peeling off on the
south side of Des Moines on Saturday.
I had a message from Sam Scholtens from nearby Middleville MI earlier today,
indicating he might attend.

I've noticed a shake in the front end of my truck that only gets temporarily
cured by a rotate and balance. And it's even more pronounced now that I am used
to the smoothness of the ride of my new vehicle. I suspect some sort of
front-end suspension problem since the truck is 10 years old, has 250K miles on
it, and has had nothing replaced.

So, sounds like you are only spending one night in Marshalltown. I figure I'll
be staying three nights.
I'll be driving my wife up to her in-laws in Harlan County this Friday (and
getting to Benham about 2 AM local time on Saturday).

I am still out for this meet but I will be in St. Louis for a toy show
on Sunday, I am driveing up Saturday and plan to make a big county
clinching roadtrip out of this, I am staying in St Louis Saturday
night and Sunday night and plan on getting several counties in IL and
MO, I may even "froggie" Iowa Sunday after the show if I am not too
tired. Unfortunently I can't get Thursday and Friday off, have fun
guys! I know I plan too. :-)
That's really the reason. Making my travel as inexpensive as possible.
That, and I'd have to take all of Thursday and Friday off work, and that's
tough to do right now.
If there have been no other commitments, looks like only three people for the
full event, one for part of both days, and one for one day only. Therefore,
looks like my taxi services won't be needed unless there are a bunch of
last-minute RSVPs.
Jeff, I'll be on the road starting Tuesday and will send my cell number (and
eventual lodging choice for Marshalltown) to you via e-mail at a later date.
Once I'm on the road and know for sure I'm going to be able to be there, I'm
going to try Priceline's "Name Your Own Price" deal and see if I can't get a
room at a substantial discount. Since payment is required in advance with no
refunds allowed, I want to be sure that I'm actually going to arrive as
scheduled before I put down the cash for three nights' worth of lodging.

9:30 may be pushing it for me, as it will depend on how early I can
get out of KC. Will send you my contact no. off-group.
I have a contract that requires the work to be done on a Saturday.
Today, my sub-contractor informed me that he has ONLY ONE Saturday available
within the the contractural time limits.
You guessed it. THIS Saturday. It looks like my multi-state travel to
geek-meets is done for this year.
Darn. I had a really great route planned for both ways, about 20 new
counties.
Oh, well. I hope to see all of you further on down the road.
Well, that sucks. Sorry to hear about that.
OK, with MLOM coming up from Kansas City, let's give me and H.B. a
little more time to sleep and we can meet at the motel at 10 instead
of 9:30. We can hang around for a while if we have to. At least it
won't be quite as hot as today (Wed).
