We already have 10 folks from NC and four other states planning to go so why not yourself! If you are interested in going to the Bulls game on the Saturday after the meet, please let me know by Monday the 19th. (I'm trying to get a discounted group rate.) Other than that feel free to tell me at the last minute!
This year's spring Carolinas Road Meet will occur on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Cleveland Draft House in Garner, NC. (south and east of Raleigh)
We'll tour the either just newly opened or soon to be open US 70 Clayton Bypass and other road items in the area.
The meet will start at 12:30 pm.
The Cleveland Draft House is located just off of Interstate 40 (Exit 312) on NC 42 in Garner. For details and a menu: http://clevelanddrafthouse.com/
On Saturday Evening after the meet, the Durham Bulls take on the Pawtucket Red Sox at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. If anyone is interested in going to the ball game, please let me know. We may be able to get a discounted group ticket rate at a great minor league ballpark!

The answer is simple... Many people in their late 20s and early 30s are already married and have lives already. We don't spam newsgroups looking for friends because we're so lonely.

Carl,
Why the hate? It's not like you've attempt to have meets before...and not long ago were very enthusiastic about meets myself and others had. What changed?
Why not come to the meet. I mean think about it.
The North Carolina meets have traditionally been the most attended and most popular meets within the hobby. It can be arguably said that North Carolina is the most active state within the hobby, if not the most newsworthy. And most importantly the whatever you call your site this week doesn't have a single photo of North Carolina. (I'm sorry I've lost track with all the name and design changes) Talk about being inferior, and I know you and your product certainly doesn't want to be considered inferior by the masses.
So why not remedy this.
Come to the meet, you'll have a great audience there to which you could possibly sell your books (think about the commerce opportunities there) hell even a book signing can take place, you'll add a new state to take photos of, create videos for, and hell all you need is photos of 10 or 15 routes within a state to make a book right? You could have a new book for the Carl Rogers travel series.
So why not?
I'll sweeten the deal, I'll pay for the flight for you and Eric. You'd have top billing at the meet, we'll give you all the time to present your information, your strategies and techniques and anything else you'd like.
You coming to this meet would be a big attraction. We'd have a ton of people come down just to meet you. It would be the biggest road meet ever, and all because of you.
