Newsgroups lines:
misc.transport.urban-transit Metropolitan public transportation systems.
misc.transport.air-industry Airlines, airports, commercial aircraft.

misc.transport.air-industry.cargo Questions/comments regarding air
cargo.
(Moderated)
misc.transport.trucking Commercial trucking related issues.
misc.transport.marine Maritime and inland waterways transportation.
misc.transport.misc General transportation issues.
misc.transport.road Road and highway transportation.
misc.transport.rail.* charters are listed separately.
CHARTER: misc.transport.urban-transit
The newsgroup will serves as a forum for the discussion of urban public
transportation systems, emphasizing - but not limited to - rail and
bus transit systems in metropolitan centers worldwide. Within this charter
will be discussion of all aspects of public transit, including planning,
financing, selection of routes and equipment, operating procedures, histor-
ical factoids, sociological implications, etc. It is NOT intended to sup-
plant any existing newsgroup. It should not be seen as an extension of
misc.transport.rail.*, whose charter includes at least three areas
(long-distance travel, freight railroads, and recreational fan trips)
that are at most tangential to misc.transport.urban-transit.
END CHARTER.
CHARTER: misc.transport.air-industry
This would be a moderated newsgroup providing a forum for the
discussion of all aspects of the airline industry. These discussions
would include, but are not limited to:
* Airline deregulation in Europe, effect on member states, and passengers.
* The financial health (or lack thereof) of airlines.
* Airliner models as related to airline routes, resource allocation,
capacity, etc.
* Comments about the industry from insiders (most US airlines have one
or more employees who read/post to the net, we hope to attract serious
comments from these posters to this group).
* Discussion of all aspects of airline management.
* Announcement of fare changes and discussion of their effects on
airline yields.
Topics can range from small cargo charter operations in the far east to
major international passenger carriers such as British Airways,
American, or Lufthansa. All aspects of commercial aviation operations
are welcome.
END CHARTER.
CHARTER: misc.transport.air-industry.cargo
Discussion will be allowed on a variety of subjects deemed either too
specific in nature or inappropriate by the charters of the existing
newsgroups. Individuals and companies will be allowed to request and
trade information and comments on the status of the air cargo
industry. Exportation questions would be addressed for the beginner
as well as specific inquires by shippers. (i.e. "Who supplies ground
handling in Merida, Mexico?" or "How do I clear customs in
Austrailia?") Shared experiences of both the air cargo and forwarding
community would provide immensely helpful information to each other in
regard to the do's and don'ts of dealing with unfamiliar airports,
cultures, regulations, companies, procedures, and governments.
Discussions of a political/violent/inflammatory/abusive nature will
not be allowed. Any blatant advertisements, illegal rate discussions,
or overblown press releases will likewise be excluded by the
moderators. This is not a group in which general aviation or
passenger flights may be discussed - there are other groups for those
categories. This group is purely intended for those who own, import,
export, operate in, or are interested in the business of air cargo and
domestic/international air shipping procedures. The group will be
moderated by experts in the field of air cargo and freight forwarding.
They will insure the validity of posts and eliminate repetitive,
redundant, illegal, and obviously inappropriate posts. All
nationalities of airlines will be allowed. The language of the group
will be English.
END CHARTER.

There is no group called misc.transport.rail. The reference to
"misc.transport.rail.*" is to the groups under that hierarchy.
As for misc.transport.misc, your ISP apparently doesn't carry it. You
can bug the newsadmin to pick it up. Alternatively, look into an
alternative source for news -- I use the excellent free newsserver at
news.cis.dfn.de (go to http://news.cis.dfn.de/ for information and to
sign up). I just looked at m.t.m and found that news.cis.dfn.de does
carry it, but only five posts are showing up, going back to June 5. I
think it's fair to say that you're not missing much.

If you are new to usenet, Daniel, I would respectfully point out that
it's considered "bad form" to quote 203 lines and then add 5. Just
quote what you need to. 'leastways, that's what I was taught ...
