A day or two ago, Qantas has an "event" on a Perth-Singapore flight operated on a A330 aircraft. It was serious enough that the aircraft landed near Exmouth (Learmonth) which is at the top west end of australia. This is a small airport. About 40 people were injured, some seriously. [link]... more »

With the media continuing to cover the credit crisis with very hyperbolic words such as "The whole country of Iceland may be bankrupt", I am somewhat at a loss trying to understand how real this issue is. FYI, ILFC, one of the biggest (if not the biggest) aircraft lessors is part of the AIG group. AIG group is now in trouble and there are rumours circulating it might follow Lehman Brothers. Aeroflot 737-500 crashed in Russia. First Aeroflot crash since march 1994 (the kid in cockpit turning off autopilot incident).
