Heh. I've got my wallet, a (full, I don't smoke) cigarette lighter, my
smallish keychain Swiss Army knife, and a 2-AAA flashlight.

Oh, I just looked in the jacket which I put over my chair back (does that
count? I'm not wearing it but I would be if I left the building). I've also
got a cellphone, a bundle of tissues (could be good for firestarting, I
guess), a small first aid kit (band-aids, Advil, neosporin, a pair of
scissors, a cloth bandage, anti-allergy cream), five live rounds of 22LR, a
50gr Pyrodex pellet (maybe damp), a .45 casing, a 9mm casing, a .32 casing,
two 223 casings, and three 22LR casings. (This is the jacket I was wearing
on the range last Saturday - I guess I should have emptied the pockets).

Wallet (IDs, Cash, Credit, Etc)
Keys, with Magnesium Fire Starter and P-38 key fobs (I guess the can opener
isn't enough for
airport security to care about, it's gotten through every time).
$0.29 in US coinage
Swiss Army Knife
Mini Mag (2xAA)
Schrade folding knife
Loaded 15 round magazine for my handgun
Small bic lighter (I don't smoke, strictly for utility)

It sounds like a lot, but it carries quite comfortably, except for the Mini
Mag, which falls out of my pocket in the car fairly regularly.

Curiously enough, this came up in a conversation a week ago, and I made a

credit cards, ATM Card)

Hmmm, sitting here having my morning coffee, dressed as I am most
every working day:

(I don't even have to search as I always keep the same things in the
same pockets, I dislike having to search for things, I like to just
let hand reach from memory and grab.)

Right shirt pocket has 2 pens, fine tip permanent marker, one each
small pocket clip type flatip and philips screwdrivers, small pocket
clip type electronic thermometer. Left shirt pocket has a small
multimeter.

Right front, top pants pocket has small wad of cash, a few coins, Bic
type lighter (I don't smoke but always carry one or two lighters),
small key ring with my work vehicle key and housekey and fingernail
clipper.

Left front, top pants pocket has another key ring with assorted keys.
Things that I might need but not with the frequency of the other key
set. Besides specific keys, some 'generics' that'll open up most
lockable electrical boxes (breaker panels, ATSs, etc). And it has a
spare key to my vehicle and to my house. I hate locking myself out.
A pocket knife, SS, government issue, that I carry by habit and use
for rough work that might dull the blade ... wire stripping, scraping,
etc. And becase the particular type can opener attachment on it I
find handy for all sorts of tasks, just as I find the attached leather
punch useful for a lot more than putting a hole in leather.

Right back pocket, wallet. Standard stuff in it. Plus some emergency
cash which I normally never touch. And a flat coil of Spider wire.

Left back pants pocket, small notepad.

Left thigh pocket, a zippered pouch. Actually it's a small pipe
tobacco pouch. But it has a couple small electrical jumper wires, and
some misc electrical terminals, clips, adaptors, wire nuts. And
contains 2 spare AA batteries. Pocket also has a pack of chewing gum
and a small pepper spray canister.

Right thigh pocket has a pocket computer. Besides having names,
addresses, phone numbers, etc. Bob suffers from CRS, and keeps a lot
of notes, tables, tech data, etc on it. Plus it has both built in and
programmed standard and special math functions.

I normally wear 'cargo' type pants at work specifically for the extra,
roomy pockets.

On my belt is a multi-tool, a maglite, a folding hunter knife, and
cell phone that also serves as a pager, email device, etc. I'm
particular about when and on what I use the folding hunter style
knife. As that is normally reserved for use in emergencies and, as
Gunner might put it ... 'social work'. I like to keep the blade on it
shaving sharp. Let's just say that I've shocked people with how fast
I can have it out and open ... if I need to pick my teeth or
something. <G>

The roll of quarters is to be used in case I have to hit someone
(preferably on the chin.) I'm a small person, 5' 5",120lbs., and don't
have alot of power behind a punch. I figure I might get enough mileage
out of a "fortified" fist to a least get away. Besides, a roll of
quarters is a fairly innocuous thing to have. Who would expect the
soccer mom to sucker punch you with her homemade equalizer? I also
wear a ring on each finger , big stones and sharp edges are my favorite.

You probably won't believe that I have all this stuff with me, but this is
invariably what is on me when I leave home :

1 Leatherman Wave (Right Front Pants Pocket)
1 Keyring with keys for home and personal vehicles (Left Front Pants Pocket)

1 Keyring with keys for work and work vehicles (and Maglite Solitaire) (Left
Front Pants Pocket)
1 Zippo Pipe Lighter (yes, there is a difference) (Right Front Pants Pocket)

2 Pens (blue ink, thankyouverymuch) (Left Upper Jacket Pocket)
1 Leather card wallet with business cards (this is what usually I end up
forgetting) (Left Upper Jacket Pocket)
1 Plastic Cowboy hat raincover (hey, gotta protect the Stetson) (Right upper
Jacket Pocket)
1 Casiopeia E115 (Right Lower Jacket Pocket)
1 StarTac Cellphone (Left Lower Jacket Pocket)
1 H&K USP45 Expert in Milt Sparks Leather (Right Hip)
2 10-rd magazines in Milt Sparks Leather (Left Hip)
1 Surefire 6Z Combatlight in Milt Sparks Leather (Left hip behind mag pouch)

1 Pr. Porsche (by Carrera) No. 1 sunglasses (Hooked in Left Upper Jacket
Pocket)
1 Wallet (Right Rear Pants Pocket)

Usually, I also carry an old (or, as my wife calls it. . ."antique") wallet
in one of the pockets with our "Mad Money" and a few gold coins. The rest
of the time it sits in the safe.

Now, as I said, this is ALWAYS with me when I leave the house. . .even when
I walk the dog. I wear a jacket of some sort year round. Usually, this is
a Safari or field-type jacket with four pockets on it to conceal my
handgun. In the summer, the sleeves are rolled up to help with the heat. I
go nowhere without a jacket of sorts. Remember, having a gun is supposed to
be COMFORTING, not comfortable.

Each item has a specific place, so I always know where it is and don't have
to search for it. Certain items are kept in pockets on the non-firing hand
side so I don't fumble around trying to dig them out (cell phone & car keys)
in case I need them when my strong hand is occupied with a firearm.

Heavier items are placed in the lower jacket pockets to help aid in sweeping
back the jacket when accessing the pistol or magazines.

The sunglasses are ANSI Z-specification quality affording decent eye
protection.

There you have it. Yes, it's a lot of stuff, but not really when
distributed well. I typically don't dress what I call "sloppy casual." I
never wear shorts or sandals/flip-flops. Seldom do I wear just a T-shirt
(usually Polo-type shirts in the summer. . .especially now that they are
making decent Polo shirts in Cool-Max).

I almost always wear a hat when I'm outside in addition to the sunglasses.
That's not just because the hair on my head is fighting a loosing battle
with the skin in the same place.

When it's really hot out, I'll put my pistol, ammo and flashlight into a
Galco waist-pack. I'll usually also wear some form of cargo pants (such as
the Royal Robbins brand) and transfer my PDA and cell phone to those
pockets. The rest of the stuff fits in the front pocket of the waist-pack.

Hope it helps.

Hmmm... A small lockblade pocket knife, keys, wallet (cash, credit
cards, id), 2 bandanas, Maglite solitare, ink pen, small notebook.

Of course, I rarely go anywhere without dragging along my "bookbag" in
the car (it serves as my "briefcase"). In it are spare glasses,
Gerber multitool, sharpening steel & stone, side cutters, needlenose
pliers, screwdrivers, telephone wire (1001 uses!), paperclips, 2AA
Maglite, lighter, another couple bandanas (now how long have _those_
been floating around in there?... ;), calculator, checkbook, small
first aid kit (including aspirin, vitamins, floss, nail clippers,
moleskin...), paper, pens, pencils...

Glad you asked this, since I needed to clean out my bag again... ;)
