Where did you move the container after it was loaded?

About 60 feet and against the inside south side of the property. It
had been on the empty lot next door for the past 4 or so years with
the owners permission..but there was evidently a change of ownership
and as I mentioned before..an evil old bastard down the block put in a
complaint after a dog (not one of mine) killed one of his. Not abot
the dog...but about the cargo container being hidden on the back of
the property. A rather wierd dude.

That was back in early 2011. County guy came by, we chatted, he didnt
have any issue with it there..all was good. He said that as long it
was on my property and painted the proper color (tan or white) there
wouldnt be much said about it.

2 months ago...NEW county inspector was going through the "380
complaints" her predisesor had left her....and decided to lean on me.
I get a notice from the county. So I call her.

She gave me (7) days to move it off the property..or would have it
removed at my expense. Owner of the property went to talk to her.
She was too busy with the "380 other complaints"...so that was that.
She did mention that if it was on my own property..there wouldnt be
much of an issue..but "its still against code!"

She even showed up with 2 deputies at the end of the 7 days..one
very unpleasent butch lesbian deputy who has a terrible reputation
and a male newby. She (lesbian deputy) started to raise her voice to
me..and I mentioned that I had been a deputy..."you want to get
unpleasant with me over a civil matter...and you will find out exactly
how unpleasent an ex-832 (California cop) can be..Ill have you before
IA (internal affairs) over and over again until you are spending more
time answering charges than you do swashbuckling over citizens on the
street. Dont believe me...call Donny Youngblood ..Sheriff Youngblood
and tell him I said hi! and Id see him next month at the combat shoot.
Now..are you gonna settle down and be a proper escort for the nice
lady from the county...or?" Anyways..she gave me 24 hours to get it
moved.

https://picasaweb.google.com/104042282269066802602/May212013

So the next morning before I left for LA..I called her office, and
left her a voice mail saying Id have the situation cleared up in 30
days as I was waiting for parts for the forklift. Nothing more heard
from her since then. Today was the 30th day. All done, no problem.

Now Im told that cargo containers are not in code for R-1 rated areas.
There are however..at least 8 others within 10 square blocks of mine.
Its hardly a R-1 area and its never been. So the deed is done...and
if she wants to push the issue...Ill see her in court.

Im currently looking at some other property farther out in the
county..1 acre lots, some with homes and shops..others bare. The
recession and housing crunch wasnt easy on a lot of people here.
But then..its not been easy on me either..so coming up with $25k cash
might be interesting. Shrug.

Anyways..when I get home next weekend...Ill be busting ass for the
next 3-4 days to put everything away and back in order. Ive decided
to sell some of my surplus machinery, move the welding shop over to
the other corner of the property and get the motorhome up and running.
Ive told that story several times. I figured it out yesterday..I
brought the transmission to the guy 11 yrs ago. Btw..it was his boss
who moved the container for me with the big overhead crane. Now Im
going to have to do a bunch of wiring "when we get the building we
bought built" (A Butler steel building they bought somewhere..used)

Now Ive got to buy at least 3 good used 800/16.5 tires just to get the
rear end off the dirt...shrug. I bought 4 good used ones from a buddy
last month for $60..so with luck..Ill get some more and put them on.

Or bring 3 of them home and put em on the motorhome as Ive not put
them on the van yet.
https://picasaweb.google.com/104042282269066802602/Van

Which Im going to have to get home pretty soon...sigh. Somene got
into the yard where the van is stored..and broke in, stole all the
tools, the radios, etc etc..and slit all 4 tires because they didnt
get much loot. Id pretty much cleaned it out a year ago.
That happened 3 months ago.

Tags on the motorhome expired in 2001..so its off Californias computer
and it will be somewhat cheaper to get tagged. My forklift and my
truck were what it took to get it out of the yard on 3 flat tires. I
wanted to pull it around front where I could work on it..but..ran out
of time..so next weekend...move the backyard around, clean out a space
for the motorhome and put it back in. And get my transmission back
and start going through the hoses and whatnot and getting it back in
running shape again.

The guy..Buzz... who was to have rebuilt the tranny..has a long
history of putting stuff off. And I told his boss the whole
story..about me providing him with a mill, a lathe, drill press and
tig welder to get the job done...5 yrs ago In fact..we discussed him
at some length....shrug. So yesterday...I get a call from Buzz before
the boss showed up to move the cargo container..he was going to pull
my motorhome to his personal shop and get it all up and running just
fucking hunky dory as soon as he got back from the VA in Bakersfield
at 4pm. Its 26 hours later..still not heard or seen him.

So my life is never boring...shrug...Im just surrounded by too many
fucking morons and cretains.... who its illegal to kill. Perhaps
thats why Im a bit less than congenial to the trolls and leftwingers
here on Usenet.
Stress relief probably is as good an excuse as anything else.

Brown dog with splashes of white? Thats Brownie. Alleged to belong to
my DIL..but is one of my shadows..when she isnt sleeping under the
baby swing with my 1 month old grand daughter. About 8 months old and
just like her momma in color and personality....Sandy my truck dog.
They are as alike as peas in a pod. She is in excellent health and is
way way too smart. She weaned herself at 4 weeks and was begging for
handouts at 5 weeks. Gonna be a mighty fine dog for the grandkids.
They got another one...Squeeker. Blond and white and just as smart,
but more outgoing. The Golden Retriever/Aussie shepherd cross is a
marvelous hybrid.

Fun? My life is fun? Like having control (on paper) over a mental
asylum and a school for the heavily retarded is fun? Blink blink.
Thank Crom Im usually gone 3-5 days a week. Id have thrown the entire
batch of em out on the street if I lived here 24/7.

The granddaughter (9) is way too smart..yet way too young and the
grandson is ADHD and 6 yrs old. And they have been raised by semi
Mormons. Talk about half a dozen loose screws each.....and I supply
the screwdriver..or when I need to..a big hammer and bang those screws
in. She has discovered that being cute doesnt work with me..only
results do..and it makes her "upset". She even got more upset when I
put a bar stool in a distant corner and started giving her "time outs"
so she could face the corner and reflect on her misbehaving. And
squirting her in the face with a spray bottle of water when she starts
weeping that nobody loves her. Took about a half gallon of water
...then she learned that wheepy doesnt work. Now she is finally
starting to behave. Dogs are a hell of a lot easier to
train...seriously.

I should have left this morning for LA..but was so dinged up from
moving all that stuff I could hardly move..so am leaving in 4-5
hours..about 3am and will be busting ass for the next 48 hours..then
coming back and busting ass for the next 3 days or so.

Fun? Anymore fun and Id run off with a handful of dogs and a Mexican
hooker and start a sheep ranch up in the Tehachepi mountains somewhere
where they couldnt find me.

Gunner, getting old and not at all accommodating anymore to idjits.

Like I said...FUN! Sure beats being bored to tears. So, you have found
the magic in a bottle of Aleve? My boys have started to yodel in some
weird harmony that I can't even describe but it brings the neighbors out
to see what the hell is making that noise. They have only done it a
couple of times, it's truly bizarre!

My bud Roger has spent 4 month on designs and drawings for four simple
fixtures to drill and assemble a new product. Just some plywood and
some Aluminum, a few accurate holes and some air clamps. FOUR FUCKING
MONTHS! He's all pissed now because I built three of the four fixtures
last Friday afternoon with no drawings, just common sense. I explained
to him that we have several hundred pieces on a new order and it would
be nice to make a good first impression. But, he's still pissed. I
guess I shouldn't have told him that he's had four months already. Cool
product, I did get a patent pending but have no intention of going further.,

Glad to see you got caught up on the list from your goberment, now STAY
in line!

Way back when, before the asteroid hit, I took drafting in high
school. That summer we moved and the new place had a room with no
closet. So Dad says "design something, we'll make it". I came up
with a "closet" at one end, and a desk on the other, with the bed on
top.
But ... I was having trouble trying to make a scale drawing of a
sheet of 3/4 inch plywood - edge on! That was when I learned about
the difference between a "Proper Drawing" and a sketch you can work
from.

The last couple days I have been trying to use AutoCAD Or FreeCAD
to make some drawing of things for a desk - what the heck, I'll let
the computer handle the edge view of sheets of plywood. (It is either
that or mow the yard, and it is raining. Again.)

Google has some free drawing and 3-D programs. I haven't tried them but
I hear they are nice.

Roger is good at drawing good working prints but his designs are always
overly complicated and mine are usually over simplified...we DO work
well together usually and build on each others ideas but I've learned
NOT to let him out in public unsupervised, so to say. An interesting
character, he was SF in 'Nam and is rather "strong headed".

I take em every day along with (1) blood pressure med, an asprin and a
niacin tab. I stopped taking (2) fish oil caps almost 6 weeks ago,
after reading quite a bit of negative news about folks who have been
taking them..and their chloresteral is high as fuck. I had mine
tested at a health fair last fall..and everything is right where it
supposed to be.

Now granted..Ill be 60 in November..but I can still ride a bicycle 15
miles or more and climb up and own on machinery 8-12 hours a day. And
roller blade. with the kids.

If it brightens up his day...Ive done him a good thing. I suspect

him something to do in the mean time is a good thing.

Before and after what?

Immediatly after the heart surgery...I couldnt get Charlie the one
eyed trouser mouse to raise its little head. So I asked the doctor
about it...figuring it was the result of the surgery or stroke.
Doctor looked at my recovery med list...went...Hummmm....and took me
off one med. 2 days later..I woke up and Charlie was standing proud
and tall. It seems that one med has a history of taking the wind
out of a guys sails...so to speak...so when I called him and thanked
him!..he changed that med to something else and there has been no
problems since then. And the ladies thanked him as well. All systems
are normal and we have a green light for Liftoff...

Hey - it works. Sat in the back of one class I was suppose to
take, and when the instructor was a bit confused by the blueprint
notes, I read them off from the back of the room "2x- 5/16 UNF-24-2B"
and then said "I do know this stuff."
My main problem is getting from "how do I do this on the drawing
board?" to "how do I get the menehunis to do this on the screen?" As
in "Why should I make all the circles and lines to construct the
figure, when the computer has 'staff' on hand which knows how to do it
- faster?"

It took me a few years (decades) but one of my Dad's stories was
of needing to replace a bridge after spring breakup in northern
Ontario. After the "college kid" spent all day trying to figure out a
method, the wood-rat showed him how it was done: cobble together a
crib of timber, fill it with rocks, push it off the broken bridge, let
splash in crick - et viola, piers for a bridge. Not straight, not
pretty, a temporary fix (all fixes are temporary till next spring) and
the logs can start moving to market and "we" can start making money.

He was also told me about OCS, and the flagpole problem. The best
order for an officer candidate to give is "Sergeant, have a flag pole
erected here." Unfortunately, few if any, ever give that instruction.

Nope.

I used to play at Hapkido and Karate and Kendo. So I managed to keep
in fairly good shape over the years. Ive not sparred formally in at
least 7 yrs..so Im really really rusty in "open hand" martial arts and
Im sorta rusty in closed hand martial arts, but I still do a few katas
every week. I do ok for an old man who has too many things to do
besides work or look for work. I dont worry much about some asshat
trying to take me down in a bar. Shrug (you do know I dont drink..but
I have friends who hang out in bars..so thats where I go to visit with
them). Ive taken a few classes in Eskrima Silat and Krav Maga...shrug.
Fun to learn. Too expensive to spend the time in a dojo and get good
at either.

I took a couple hours Sunday morning and went out and busted a few
caps, just to keep the hand and brain syncronized. Shot 50 rds with
my 2 carry guns and 20 rds at 800 yrds with one of my Palma rifles.
Not at the top of my form, but I did ok. I used to shoot Palma
matches. I doubt I could be competative anymore..but..I do ok for a
guy in a ghillie shooting from the bushes. My eyes arent all that good
anymore.. Im getting far sighted...and putting peeps on the black at
800+ is more like work everytime I go out and bust a few caps at long
range.. So Im playing around with F-Class stuff more and more. Lots
of old Palma guys running out of eyes and going to glass (telescopic
sights..scopes)

Ever come out..Ill take you out to the desert and let you play with
some boys toys. I hope to have the 338 Lapua done this year. Then we
can shoot balloons at 1500+ meters.

Does that mean my room is ready?

Re kicking, etc.
My gadget/apparatus holds a heavy bag in a very unique way, via a
motorized winch, and some other stuff, which keeps the COG of the bag
(ackshooly, the CO Percussion) at optimal heights for a given user/strike.

Katas are nice, shadow boxing is nice, but NOTHING beats having an actual
target like a heavy.bag... not even full contact sparring, from a training
pov.
There are a lot of biomechanical reasons for this, but the bottom line is
that a heavy bag, when properly used, is not a Rocky-like meat carcass (if
you remember dat embarrassment), but rather is used as a ballistic pendulum
that interacts with your limbs.
And having an inertial target is actually SAFER than katas -- at least safer
than vigorous exertive katas.
And kicking those light buhbs is *guar-own-teed* to put you out of
commission one day.

You have the space where you don't really need my gadget, so I would suggest
just hanging a 100# bag on as high a joist as you got, and do it via a
pulley, so's you can raise, lower it. I also recommend a water-filled heavy
bag, quite superior ergonomically.

Done intelligently (not that bullshit rocky shit or youtube bullshit), heavy
bag workouts are among the VERY superior workouts.
Unbeknownst to most assholes, heavy bags are as useful for youngsters and
li'l old ladies, as they are for muchomacho assholes -- IF you can
raise/lower the height conveniently, and implement intelligent strategies.
.
Which is what makes my winch/apparatus Da Bomb. I'll actually start kicking
the bag with it lowered pert near to the floor, and work my way up, for a
progression that almost guarowntees injury-free workouts.
I'll have some demo videos on this in a few months, god willing. Really
VERY inneresting to see. Not to mention some top-notch matchining.... lol

Oh, I"d prefer my room painted in an eggshell-off-salmon, if you wouldn't
mind. I can give you the HD paint mix code later.

Can you find out Kidding's address?? If he's over there -- and half of RCM
is -- mebbe we can go visit him??

No doubt! Roger's health isn't great though, especially in hot weather.
I told him I was starting to write his eulogy...I asked him how to
spell "Curmudgeon". He really fears for his grandchildren's future in

I was working in the yard today..moving the welding area and all the
machinery. Started at 10:30 am and finished up at 10:00 tonight. So
far Ive used 20 gallons of propane. And it was 104F for most of the
day..only started to cool off a little after the sun went down.

Humidity was up a bit.. Higher than normal in fact at 50%

Its usually below 27%

Probably not, he's been too busy posting and moving his trash. He lost
a few months trying to get a forklift running! But he can probably fit
you into a room with the rest of his unemployed clan. Bring enough
cash to buy them all smokes and junk food. Get a good ROI on that by
demanding a minimum level of refurbishment. Perhaps a 55 gallon drum
of disinfectant. Thicken it with something to fill the cracks in order
to keep the roaches down to a dull skittering. Bring your own backpack
sprayer because anything Gunner owns is likely still in the "rebuild"
queue.

Whoyakidding? You probably can't afford to travel any more than Gunner
can. And if you came to my place via Gunner's you'd be traveling about
1000 miles farther than taking the direct route.
