Clayton, the largest manufacturer of manufactured homes in the U.S.,
has introduced the first green manufactured home by a major
manufacturer in the U.S.
The "i-house" is a modernist design which features bamboo floors,
point-of-use hot water, solar panel option, a roof designed for water
catchment, and a unique separate, detached second bedroom/bath unit.
The "i-house" was introduced at their show in Knoxville, TN, at the
end of Oct. 2008.
I am going to be blogging this house (link above), following articles
and developments in Clayton's entrance into "green" building. I'm not
connected with the company, or any home company, in any way.
I ask the question, will it be Clayton's Prius, or Edsel?
