For you IRC users out there.

Apparently there is an exploit for mIRC version 6.0 and up that
allows another IRC user to crash your system. From the article below:

"The attack can be used to crash you to take your nick, or crash all
ops in a channel for a takeover. Beyond that nobody knows. Assume the
worst to be safe."

Microsoft again/still... Dated 10 October, 2003

"Long-anticipated exploit code targeting the most recent Microsoft RPC
vulnerabilities is circulating and may compromise even patched Windows
XP systems, sources said. Other versions of Windows might be
vulnerable but haven't been tested."

Probably a good idea to keep the firewall software working.
