In the Feb 2009 issue of "Spectrum" (www.spectrum.ieee.org) there's a letter
about a previous article titled "A Poor Man's Tesla", noting "In comparison
with the Tesla, the electrified Porsche 914 weighs 100 percent more...".

The reply from coauthor David Schneider says "...First, we made an error in
the table: The approximate weight given for the Porsche is in pounds, not
kilograms. So both cars weigh about the same."
Spectrum's usually pretty good about using international units, but
occasionally the strain shows.
