He should be charged w manslaughter and locked up for 20 years but i bet
nothing is done to him. Just like the reckless drivers who kill kids every
day and say "too bad but i didn't kill the kid on purpose so forget it".

July 3, 2009

An eight-foot Burmese python strangled a two-year-old baby in her parents
home in Oxford, Florida last Wednesday.

The python allegedly managed to escape from its fish tank prison, and
slithered towards Shaunia Hare in her crib. Shaunia was already dead when
paramedics arrived at the scene.

Charles Jason Darnell, the owner of the snake and the boyfriend of
Shaunias mother, said that he discovered that his snake was missing, and
proceeded to look for it. He went straight to the babys room where he
found it with the girl. The baby had bite marks on her head. Darnell
stabbed the snake until he could pry it away from the babys body.

Darnell did not have a permit for the snake, but was not yet charged for
the offense. Investigators are also looking into possibilities of counts of
child neglect issues.

Of course, with your limited intellect, you see this as the
boyfriend's fault.

But what kind of mother has a live-in boyfriend with an 8 foot
predator at the same time she has a toddler in the house?

Darwin in action.

I heard thsi on the radio today. What a terrible, terrible thing.

People shouldn't keep wild animals at home especially if they have
children.

Animals do what animals do.

Is rejection by misfits such a bad thing?

Is YOUR 12 foot Burmese Yellow Python
good at breaking out or opening their
containment?

Isn't this comparable to situations where
people have inadequate gates or fail to
use them around a swimming pool
and a child drowns?

Stupid and negligent, but not concious
and deliberate.

If it's not legal to have that snake
that would make the penalty harsher
wouldn't it?

Any idiot too stupid to understand that that keeping an enormous
carnivorous constrictor in the same house as a dfenseless child needs
to be re-educated - in prison.

Sometimes I wonder why God allows such brainless dumbasses like that
to exist.

People wouldn't do it if they knew they would be held accountable for
any "accidents". But these owners knew nothing would be done to them
no matter what the snake did.

So they can serve as entertainment/examples for those who aren't so
stupid.
