At 1:26 PM Pacific Time on Thursday July 16, 2009, Gregory Alexander
was arrested by the United States Secret Service on the 16th floor of
the United States Court House at 450 Golden Gate Avenue, San Francisco
CA.

By chance, it happened that I personally witnessed the arrest. Gregory
Alexander called out to me "Mr. Sloan" as the handcuffs were being put
on. I am not exactly a friend of his but I suppose that he wanted to
notfy somebody, anybody, before he disappeared into NeverNever Land.

ZELIG

Sam Sloan seems to be every place when something important happens,
like Zelig in Woody Allen's movie. Since he lives in New York, one
wonders what he was doing in San Francisco when this arrest took
place.

Plot summary for Zelig (1983)

Fictional documentary about the life of human chameleon Leonard Zelig,
a man who becomes a celebrity in the 1920s due to his ability to look
and act like whoever is around him. Clever editing places Zelig in
real newsreel footage of Woodrow Wilson, Babe Ruth, and others.

I believe he -- and Alexander -- were there for the court-ordered
mediation session in the California case. Nothing startling there.

Larry, a more apt description would be that whatever happens to or
around Sam Sloan is deemed by Sam Sloan to be of Great Significance
and Fascination, and thus gets reported here as a Major News Event.
The rest of us, finding Sam and his mess of a life far less
fascinating than does Sam himself, pay little or no heed and go about
our everyday business, without trying to convince any one that we are
the Crossroads of History and Emanuensis of the Zeitgeist.

Don't be such a sourpuss TK. If Sam was there the OP was indeed
newsworthy. Whether ALexander called out Sam's name, like dying
devotees would of Stalin just before they were executed, is another
matter.

Isn't it strange how a thread titled "Joe Smith was arrested"
turns out to be, not about Joe Smith or his arrest, but about
Sam Sloan.

I am thinking of inventing a new physics in which everything
revolves around (what else?) Sam Sloan. Let's start with
astronomy: the center of the physical world is of course Mr.
Sloan-- wherever he may be at a given instant in time. As
for time itself... I may need help in imagining how it can be
plotted as a function of... Sam Sloan. From now on, talking
about Sam Sloan in any given newsgroup must be consider-
ed /on topic/, because *everything* revolves around Him.

If you think about it, this can't really be all that hard, for at
least one person hereabouts /already/ has developed a
working system in which Sam Sloan is the center of all
things; and if He can do it, so can we... .
