Some Pregnant Women Fearful of H1N1 Vaccine
Miscarriage / Pregnancy Loss Blog
By Krissi Danielsson, About.com Guide to Miscarriage / Pregnancy Loss
Tuesday September 29, 2009
An article in Minneapolis Star Tribune reports on how some pregnant
women are skeptical of the new H1N1 vaccine. Pregnant women are among
the groups strongly advised to get the vaccine, but many women are
less than thrilled about the idea of getting the shot, reporting
concerns about the safety of the vaccine and possible effects for the
unborn baby.
I can definitely see where they are coming from, being someone who was
concerned about safety of pretty much everything when I was pregnant.
And there’s not much research on the safety of any type of flu vaccine
during the first trimester, much less thimerosal exposure in the first
trimester, although the CDC says that flu vaccination is advisable in
any trimester during a pandemic. Still, there are definite risks to
catching the flu during pregnancy also — and pregnant women seem to be
at higher risk of having severe complications (including death) from
H1N1 flu in particular. As with most cases, all you can really do is
weigh the risks and benefits of both courses of action and discuss
your concerns with your doctor — then make an informed choice on how
to proceed.
What are your thoughts? Do you plan to get the H1N1 flu vaccine,
especially if you are currently pregnant or hope to become pregnant in
the near future? Vote here.

Keyword again, Possibly.
Reports improvable and hearsay. But take them as a positive, k?
5 cites possible miscarriage after preggie
1000 cites no problem with preggie mom.
Then what do you do? Given that it is a possible pandemic, pregnant mom
gets the flu, gives it to her children who then die, gives it to her
husband who goes near death, gives it to her parents and parents in law
and one parent from each side dies. Gives the flu to others around her
and 25% of those people die, who give it to others and so on and so on.
Now, given that you know the probable/possible outcome should the
pregnant mom take the "shot"?
Save one life or save hundreds?
Be reasonable if you can.

What statistics are you looking at to find a 25% death rate from
getting the swine flu? From my understanding, unless you are in a
high risk factor group, the sympoms are not any worse than the regular
flu.
Show me a population anywhere that currently is experiencing the swine
flu where there has been a 25% death rate. Definately not here in the
USA...
With so many 'unknowns' how can any vaccine company the cdc, who or
any other gov't agency claim these vaccines have been tested and are
safe?
Population control through vaccine???? Why not become like China and
regulate how many children people can have? It would be a lot safer
than f-cking around with the immune system via vaccines. I'm not sure
I buy all this conspiracy theory crap anyway. But, I guess almost
anything is possible.
It all just sounds a little too far fetched for me.

Can you imagine the US government forcing women to abort babies!!! We
are STILL a "Christian" Nation of sheeps!
We are still a "Christian" Nation, I dont believe forced abortions
would go over very well in this country, or forced sterilization.
This scenario is pure fiction, especially 25% part.
Pandemic my a**. WHO changed the official definition of this word just
before declaring the pandemic. According to the previous definition
of pandemic the disease had to cause massive illness and death. Now it
would suffice to be present worldwide and cause more cases than normal.
Meanwhile, in Poland there were 193 cases of H1N1 flu with no
fatalities (as of 2 days ago). But 6 people died from the vaccine.

Why didn't you answer my question?
Say anything but avoid answering the question, eh?
No one died from the vaccine yet, but you would rather believe hearsay
and bs.
Answer my question, that was all I asked.
Google translation:
***********************************************************************
Deputy Minister Adam Fronczak health, however, drew attention to the
dangers arising from these vaccines. - So far in the country who bought
a lot of influenza A/H1N1 vaccine, when administered to patients six
people died. 2 immediately after admission, 4 - as the suspects - a few
hours after vaccination. Adverse effects were also observed at the 190
nurses who had previously vaccinated against a new flu - he added.
***********************************************************************
So, it is NOT hearsay and bs. Death is a possible side effect.
>
> Answer my question, that was all I asked.
>
Your question was: what should be done if the mortality were 25% and
your scenario were possible? Since this is fiction this question is
moronic and does not deserve an answer.
In the current situation, women should be informed that it is not known
whether H1N1 vaccine can inflict fetal harm or affect reproduction
capacity. Then they can make decisions for themselves.
You've a twisted mind, pervert
You are far more closed minded that I thought. Given your rational one
day you will die as a direct result of it, or someone in your family.

Based on what, fear? I am sorry that you are so prejudiced. Assuming you
are over 21 years old I hope you realize the consequences of your
actions without affecting the lives of others.
The USA is considered a "Christian" Nation.
Printed on our money it says, In God we trust
Our Pledge of Allegiance
"One Nation under God"
Sorry to prove you wrong, Bobby! :o)
why?
Because, on my support group with disabled children, we lost three
kids in one weekend from the swine flu and are on average losing one
child a week.
Our disabled children are not handling this swine flu well at all. and
if I didn't get my son the vaccine and he died, I wouldnt be able to
live with myself.
It could have been the tamiflu that is killing the kids on my support
group, I dont know.
I just know our kids are on heavy duty drugs to prevent life
threatening seizures. (we had one young child pass away last week from
the seizures) Maybe its a combination of tamiflu and the seizure
medications...
That's out of how many children total?
It started in Sept.
we have lost I think eight children.
Our kids are severe/profoundy disabled on heavy duty drugs for
seizures.
They died quickly, one day at the ER having chest X Rays coming back
negative, sent home, Next day back in the ER, lungs are full and then
within hours they are gone.
Im a Mom, I cant take that chance with my son.
You're not just a mom, you're a loving mom who cares for what's best
when the chips are down.
You did the right thing and have nothing to be ashamed of.
President Obama says it is not a Christian Nation.
I meant, how many children total in the group,
infected or not. Are we talking 8 out of 1000
or 8 out of 10,000 or what?
8 out of about 200
Somehow, this should be gotten into the MMWR.
If disabled kids are at such high risk, that
needs to be recognized so that they're moved
into a higher-priority group for vaccination
and treatment. Some of the most important
observations ever reported in the MMWR were
anecdotal and case reports which provided
early warning of developing health risks.
They published the first descriptions of
what later became known as AIDS, for example.
>It all just sounds a little too far fetched for me.
well proven re sterilisation http://www.whale.to/m/sterile.html
I never said nor inferred that I did.
The premise was to save lives. You were presented with an option, which
did you choose? It appears to be the one that would kill the most per
your comments.
Sad that you would willingly chose to destroy many for the sake of one.
I know our kids are first priority for receiving the H1N1 vaccine.
There are a few doctors on my group, one of the mothers is a pediatric
cardiologist. and a few molecular scientist.
When did President Obama say this?
While I commend you for your choice, you waited way too long.
Children, especially special children, are the ones most seriously
affected by H1N1. I know of two others who have lost family members,
one who was 7 and the other who was 43 (with serious lung problems).
The 7 year old was the picture of health.

Maybe it is a combination of the seizure and impaired airway due to
H1N1. Sounds more likely to me.
But you have advocated just that in the past. I told you how your tune
would change after a few deaths.
Paul Offit used to think that tunes would change when deaths started.
He now thinks that the anti-vac tune needs many more deaths to
change.
Sadly, I have to agree with him.
My son had the vaccine in October.

Our kids take benzodiazepines daily, which can cause pneumonia by
itself.
A 4% death rate is astounding.
Any of the children have significant after effects of the disease?
Remember, death is not the only consequence.
We had one child that was on life support for over a month, I havent
heard how she is doing.
Some of the kids with confirm H1N1, did okay, They were very sick, in
the hospital for dehydration at most. But, those kids are in the
minority.
I never allow Kevin to have the seasonal flu vaccine, But this swine
flu really is harsh on disabled children.
I will post what I wrote to my support group...
I have to sign out and sign into my other gmail acct, to get the
letter.
When Kevin was younger his seizure meds were at super therapeutic
levels the Neuro told me that if we went any higher we would have to
use a respirator because Kevin's lungs would stop working. Kevin was
seen at StonyBrook University on Long Island, NY. When a this new
Associate Professor of neurology came to StonyBrook and wanted to try
this "experimental drug Nitrazepam" on Kevin, The Professor said: "NO
WAY", Because Kevin was very susceptible to respiratory infections and
was hospitalized three times in two years with pneumonia. We really
had no other options except trying ACTH again, which he had to be
taken off of because he became cushingoid, we couldn't leave him the
way he was, he was having hundreds of seizures every day, so we had a
meeting and I said lets try this new drug, Kevin has been seizure free
and hasn't had pneumonia since being placed on Nitrazepam. Nitrazepam
is comparable to Clobazam.
Benzodiazepines(which MOST of our Angels are on for seizure control)
are very dangerous when you have a child with a respiratory infection.
Because of their muscle relaxant action, benzodiazepines may cause
respiratory depression in susceptible individuals. For that reason,
they are contraindicated in people with myasthenia gravis, sleep
apnea, bronchitis and COPD.[55][77]
This is why I went ahead and let Kevin have the H1N1 vaccine.
Here is what the CDC website says about our children:
http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/childrentreatment.htm#1
Children with Developmental Disabilities, and Chronic Medical
Conditions
Certain children are at higher risk for complications from influenza
infection. An investigation of 153 seasonal influenza-associated
deaths among children during the 2003-2004 season found that 33% of
the children had an underlying condition recognized to increase the
risk of influenza-related complications, and 20% had other chronic
conditions; 47% had previously been healthy. Chronic neurologic or
neuromuscular conditions were present in one third.
Children at higher risk include infants < 6 months and all children
with immune suppression, pregnancy, chronic kidney disease, heart
disease, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, asthma or other problems of the lungs,
sickle cell disease, and those on long-term aspirin therapy for
chronic disorders. In addition, children with any condition that
affects respiratory function including neurological conditions such as
intellectual and developmental disability, cerebral palsy, spinal cord
injuries, seizure disorders, metabolic conditions or other
neuromuscular disorders have higher risk.
Other children with an increased risk for complications are those with
poor nutritional and fluid intake because of prolonged vomiting and
diarrhea, and children with an underlying metabolic disorder such as
medium-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (MCAD) deficiency who are unable
to tolerate prolonged periods of fasting. Because many children with
neurological or metabolic conditions may not have the ability to
report onset or worsening of symptoms, delay in identification of
influenza infection can lead to additional complications. In
addition, in one study among HIV-infected children who were not taking
antiretroviral medication, influenza was more severe and
hospitalization and bacterial complications were more common than
among uninfected (i.e, non-HIV infected) children.
You should read the CDC more often. Imagine if Kevy had been a victim
and you saw this page?
(You would think I am being too kind to the pro-infectious disease
merchants of disability and death, a/k/a anti-vac liars.
I dont like the CDC, they are corrupt.
No, they are not. They called it perfectly for your support group.
I guess Paul Offit is right. More kids need to die before people like
you get it.
How truly sad.
That was uncalled for and you know it.
Not long after his election, I believe it was in a speech or speeches in
the middle east. He stated at that time we were a nation of Muslims and
overemphasized the numbers of them here and their strengths. It
shouldn't be that hard to find if necessary.
LOL, you are such a liar!
You certainly are *not* and original thinker, and certainly not even
clever. Your statement was wrong, incorrect and showed only your
jealousy.
That was totally uncalled for. You never bothered looking, and I as well
as many others heard it with out own ears. It might seem unbelievable to
you, and it certainly did to me, but I posted the truth.
I will not bother looking it up for you at this point.

It is called risk management.

sorry I do not take the pledge of allegiance, and as a non christian
which has studied your religion. No real christian or jew would take
the pledge of allegiance.
BTW the pledge is not a requirement by any law. Sometime you should
read your own bible's admonishments against oaths and vows. as well
as your christs on commands about public prayers.
>
>Sorry to prove you wrong, Bobby! :o)
You didn't.
Did you know the advocates of the pledge waited until each of the
Founding fathers had died, to push that bit of nonsense through. Each
and everyone of the founding fathers spoke against any sort of ledge
to the flag. (sometime Read the real story about william tell and why
he was declared an outlaw). The bit about 'under god' wasn't in the
original version but added in the 1950s after efforts by anti-commie
movement.
The pledge is as unconstitutional as any other religious ceremony or
rite. It becomes an endorsement of religion by the state.
Sorry, but you are as wrong as you could be.
He only repeated what was law.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Tripoli
<cite>
The first treaty is cited as historical evidence in the modern day
controversy over whether there was religious intent by the founders
of the United States government. Article 11 of the first treaty has
been interpreted as an official denial of a Christian basis for the
U.S. government.
</cite>
<cite>
Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in
any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no
character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of
Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act
of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the
parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever
produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two
countries.
</cite>
The body of law agrees with my statement and you are again shown to
be wrong.
I hope now you will return from where-ever your ancestors came from!
Close minded meaning what - laying out the facts? 25% is way beyond
fiction, even Spanish flu of 1918 had 2% mortality, you are probably
ignorant of that.

I am prejudiced in favor of real informed consent. If they decide to
get the vaccine knowing all pro and contra, fine. If not, fine.
What about you? Are you in favor of mandatory vaccination, consent be
damned, informed or not?
No you ignoramus, I laid out a scenario. It was simply that, and here
you and some other lamers go and try and make it all factual based on
what? Your imaginations. Get it. I gave an option to test your
reasonability. You all failed. Kevinsmom, on her own, with no input from
me made a far wiser descision for her son in RL then all simpletons
could do with a simple option plan.

Fine, while you make up your mind you'll die being slow to decide.
You have no reasoning, you understand no science, you have no training
in medications, limited understanding in life yet you want to
play/pretend that you are a smart person? Roaring laughter, this is
something you should have decided years ago, and don't play extra stupid
with me, the logic is the same from flu to flu.
I don't care whether you have the vaccination of not, but if something
gets really serious and uncontrollable then I'm all for putting you and
your ilk into a camp for the duration. If you happen to then all die
off, sorry.
No, it was exactly called for. You do not trust the CDC, but they
called it four-square with special kids. You did not learn anything,
even though your support group had an astounding 4% mortality rate.
I see you, and other anti-vacs, still do not understand one wit about
vaccines. The only learning that will come is from a high body count.
At least you will not be a contributor to that.
But, look at all of the times G-d is mentioned in the Declaration of
Independence and the Constitution.
Oh, that's right, G-d is not mentioned in any of those founding
documents.
Sorry, for interrupting.

Those founding fathers were fairly smart. you did notice in the
different papers from the founding fathers, the number of times they
debated items like pledges to the flag and such other nonsense.
Almost to a man they were against it.

I have not looked at that aspect as much, and not for a long time.
I'll ask my son's friends parents this weekend. They are direct
descendents of the Abigail Adams family.

Most of the founding fathers were far more tolerant than the leaders
today. to a man most of them fought debated and Codified the freedom
so many take today for granted.

Yes, and I am speaking of American dollars so lets get that fact
straight right here and now.
Then you put your money in a trust fund to be released upon notification
that what I wrote is true, and you'll get a two month waiting period
whereupon the lack of info releases all the monies to you.
Bank of America. Done this morning, now yours? Then give me the name of
your trustee, phone, email acct, and fax numbers.
I take it that means you were lying?
I did not ask you for personal info, post it up.
I knew you were lying about the money, I knew you were lying about
following through, I knew that even if you were to follow through you
are too stupid to search out alternatives so we could accomplish the
same goal.
Perhaps you might have had a twinge of common sense and looked it up
yourself and found the truth, so you want to back out of it all, but I
doubt it.
You are proven to be a liar, and a coward with a big mouth.
You and Autrey, two nuts from the same shell.
I already told you and I did it. I anticipated your honesty. I was
wrong. I asked you for non personal info so that it could be forwarded
to the trustee of the account expecting that you might wimp out or were
lying about the funds. Since you withdrew from the agreement like the
snaky coward you are, you will not be privy to more info than that which
you received. But you can call them Monday to verify the account if you
do so before I close it. You will then owe me $569.00 for the setup and
breakdown costs, and that was discounted to me for reasons that are
unimportant to you.
You and Autrey, big mouths and no back bone. Two nuts from the same
shell.
Interesting that you would find no truth, nor expect to see any on the
Usenet and therefore feel comfortable with deceit, lies, and wild
stories. Since this seems to be perfectly acceptable to you then why
should anything you say be treated as worthwhile. It shouldn't and that
is sad.
Wow, a little honesty. You won't be able to delete this post wherein you
admit to lying, deceit, and dishonesty as your tools and you find no
problem with that. You assume way too much as is evidences my much of
your posting, like you assumed that I was as poor as yourself. I was
rather looking forward to taking some money from you, and normally I
would have offered a different deal, but your mouth made that
impossible.
You have no moral base as was evidenced by your post. Situation ethics
is the same as none at all. No matter how you dance, you made your bed,
lied about the money, lied about Obama, know nothing of my financials
(funny things is that I am probably almost as ignorant as you when it
comes to that.) and you lost from the outset.
"t". tools and whatever else self certified losers.
You are right, I apologize.
I had no idea Obama said this.
================================================
Thank you..
You don't deserve an apology because you misrepresented the context of
his remark. He was pointing out that the US is a country of both
muslims *and* christians, so it was merely an attempt at inclusion.
No one expects you to understand that, of course.
===================================================
No, you *want* to interpret it that way. His speech was clear.
It is also very clear you are a shadow poster, following me around like
a puppy dog.
