BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY:
David Sorrel is currently a Project Manager with Aker Marine and
working for Amoco Orient Petroleum Company as Installation
Supervisor for the Liuhua 11-1 Development Project in China and
IS based on Perth Western Australia. In this capacity he is
responsible for the installation of the Floating Production
System (FPS), Floating Production, Storage and Offloading Tanker
(FPSO) and Flexible Flowlines and Risers. Twenty-one 40 metric
tonne drag embedment anchors were successfully placed and proof
tensioned on target in 330 meters of water during June and July
1995. Since Joining AOI in 1990. David has been involved in a
number of large mooring projects including the Large Scale
Anchor test in 1990. In 1991, David worked for Shell offshore
in sizing anchors for the Auger TLP. In 1991, he also was lead
engineer in the installation for the Amoco Gombe FPSO in Gabon.
He later supervised the field installation of the system.. In
1992 he managed the design and installation of an offshore
loading terminal in Equatorial Guinea. In 1992 and 1993, David
was in Norway with Norwegian Contractors working on installation
procedures for a large concrete FPS. David also wrote marine
procedures for the Troll Gas GBS. David also has 10 years
experience as a commercial diver including Hyperbaric and wet
welding, marine heavy construction practices and ROV operations.
David has extensive multinational work experience.

TLP lateral mooring system (LMS) design development, component
sizing and bid information package. Also developed anchor proof
tensioning acceptance procedures and software to monitor anchor
performance during proof tensioning operations.
BP Exploration Inc., CPT Study:
Compliant tower conceptual design and cost estimating.
Oceaneering Production Systems, Amoco Gombe FPSO Project:
Mooring system installation engineering, component design and
procurement. Field management during installation (offshore West
Africa).
Deepwater, Aramid Mooring Line JIP:
Development of conceptual designs for the mooring systems for a
large, deep water floating production platform for water depths
of 1,500, 3000, 4,500, and 6,000 ft for both all-steel mooring
systems and hybrid aramid mooring systems.
Large Scale Anchor Tests JIP:
Site engineer for anchor tensioning operations during project.
Developed procedures for testing and results interpretation.
Managed final report and presentation.
